Lighthouse Country Club
About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Great course and very challenging
Fast true greens. Lots of undulations make tricky greens! Lots of traps. Need to think your way around this course and be able to make all shots. Not long but not easy to score on. Fun to play but Zane hour 15 from my house
Good course slow pace.
Course was in good shape. Course had a members tournament before our time but owner is not Golf Now friendly. Absolutely no changes to time. We had to follow a Jack & Jill when we could have went in front. Extremely slow. Advice would be to check first before booking. Worth playing if pace is ok.
Food
This course was very fun to play it is a very difficult course to play so be ready to get your butt kicked but it's awesome course and very good shape the staff has done a wonderful job fixing this course up my only complaints right now is there's no food and no water on the course the water was empty and there's no restaurant for food hot dogs only and that's it and it should have a better food quality there otherwise the course is very fun to play greens are fast hard to read but they're challenging and it's a great experience go play it I have played there many times since this course is open and this is the best shape I've ever seen it in
Love the course
The course was in great shape but the greens were exceptional! Make sure to stay below the hole as it is very easy to 3 putt from above or beside. Best greens I have played on in a long time. Definitely would recommend this course to everyone!
course has changed over the years
what was once a "goat ranch" has been groomed into a high quality layout with perfectly groomed greens and fairways. Staff are friendly and helpful. Watch out for "good ole boys" groups- they may not let you through.(stay out of the bunkers,-they are NOT sand traps)
Good course great valur
The course is in great shape. The scenic surroundings are a great bonus. Don’t like the sand they use in the traps but decided to avoid them. Service was slow in the cafe but all in all this course is a great value with friendly people and i have payed way more for courses far less challenging and in worse shape. The best part got through the round in 3 hours.
Great Day at Lighthouse!
Greens are awesome! Our foursome had a a great time Sunday. We are all from Blue Lake Golf Club and always enjoy Lighthouse. I had a Hole-in-One on #12 so memorable round!
Beautiful Central Texas Golf Course
Lighthouse Country Club is an amazing place to golf and such a beautiful scenery while playing. The staff is super friendly and its always a great crowd to hang around. I highly recommend you going here to play next time your looking for a great spot to play!!!
Great Course
We got there way early to eat at the Lighthouse Country Club Restaurant, however was closed because their chef left. So we had to back track to get lunch. Unfortunately, no where we looked did they warn us their restaurant was closed.
That said, the course is in sterling shape everything was prefect. Absolutely a great course, lots of challenges, I will go there again in a heartbeat even though it is 42 miles away.
Greens & Fairways are great
Was very impressed with the greens & fairways. Loved the layout and the staff was very friendly. Nice combination of rock, water, hills, open fairways and a few tight fairways. Would love to come back and play this course again. 5 stars for me. Keep up the good work!
Worth the drive
Overall, it was a fun track. One would certainly benefit from a yardage book, as there are several tricky holes. The greens were faster than they look, having been punched a few weeks prior. Biggest downside - not much food. Kitchen was closed and the snacks were not good. Certainly eat before. Or stop at Opee's BBQ on the way back to Austin. That was the highlight of the day!! Yummy!!
Great track!
Course was in great shape. Fairways were nicely cut and good roll and setup. Greens were rolling true and of good pace. A good mixture of difficult and fairly easy holes make it a solid challenge for all golfers. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to play a fun and challenging course.
Excellent layout
The front nine was challenging! I loved it! The back nine kept us guessing. I'm definitely playing it again!
Phenomenal condition
Played on 8/18. I have played almost all high end clubs in the Austin area and none of them save for ACC around match play time are any better conditioned. I was beyond impressed with course conditions from tee to green especially in the dead of summer. Guy in the shop took the time to go through the yardage book with me and give me an idea as to how to play virtually every hole. There are several blind tee shots which would require playing a few times to get comfortable but all in all great layout. Only the blind shots keep this from 5 stars all the way around. If this place were closer to Austin and stayed semi private they could get between $70 and $100 for it all day everyday.
Lightening Greens
Took a group of 13 players. All comments from the group praised the conditions of the course. Greens were slick, but putted true. Only one player complained on the firmness of the greens. Others disagreed and thought they were okay. Course has an interesting and challenging layout with lovely views of the countryside, We'll definitely put this course back on our playing list, even though over an hours drive to get there. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
A Gem In Hill Country
Had an awesome deal through Golf Now. Went to Kingsland from Austin, and the course was in a unique location.
The course is in great condition, and real friendly staff and owner.
The layout was cleverly made and half of the holes make you really think out your shot.
I really enjoyed the course. Play well for the ladies because of nice upfront red tees, and good for seniors as well.
