Decent muni with excellent staff. Great pace with cordial patrons. I look forward to playing this course again.

The weeds around what used to be ponds are very high and the ponds are empty and need to be filled up with water. The tee boxes were in very bad shape. Either no grass and bare spots or grass so tall it was like rough.

This is my favorite course to play. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I drive from MesquiteTX to play the course almost weekly. It is not a long course but it will challenge all golfers. All greens are elevated. It has grass bunkers instead of sand. I also like that it is a traditional styled course meaning that it is an older styled course not developed within a subdivision. The course is well-kept. I highly recommend it. I always use Golfnow to book Hot Deals.

Bought a new glove in the pro shop before my round. Let’s just say it cost more than I paid to play this gem of a course. I was the only one out there and just eased along at my own pace.

Can’t wait to go back!

I play Countryview almost weekly. I drive 20 miles to get to the course. It is my favorite course. The staff is awesome. All greens are elevated. All the bunkers are grass. The course has a very nice layout. I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed the round. Elevated greens require great approach shots.

This lower-tier daily fee course punches way above its weight thanks to elevated, domed greens and punitive overgrown rough that can gobble up errant shots. A little local knowledge goes a long way in identifying short cuts and risk/reward shots. Despite the summer heat and dry conditions (water hazards were as much dried-up mud pits as they were water), the fairways and greens were in good condition. Course infrastructure needs a major cash infusion, but the quality of the golf is much better than the facilities would suggest.

Lots of elevated greens on the course--#2, #3, #5, #6 (from elevated tee), #10, #14 (from elevated tee), #16 (from elevated tee), & #17.

This course has its share of features that can make a high handicap golfer uncomfortable besides elevation changes. Mid-hole carries over creeks on #2 & #7. On #15, it's paramount to drive far enough left to have a good view of the green for the approach. On the approach to #17 there will be water to the left and water to the right.

If one lives locally, there are discounts to a few local merchants on the scorecard in the advertisement section.

For what you pay you really cant beat it in our area. The pace has always been good, we have been playing Friday afternoons. If you are in Ellis County looking for something close this is a great option. The scenery is nice and wooded , hearing the owls was the coolest.

Course conditions are shaping up to be great for rest of summer & fall. Green issues have finally been resolved & they are rolling smoothly. These are best they have been in some time. Great job by new staff.

Hard firm fairways. Greens are slow still. Not what they use to be before the management changes two years ago in 2018.

The tee box and fairways are in excellent shape. The greens are finally starting to be recovered from fungus/weed issues. The greens haven't looked this good in a few years. Glad to see everything getting maintained well again.

Had a good time but almost all short but definition of learning short game

I used to play this course every weekend back in the 90’s for a few years and always enjoyed it. It is now a short par 70 course (used to be. Par 71). The greens were in great shape and the fairways were good. I forgot how tough the approach shots are into these elevated greens. If you are a little off you are pitching up the steep slopes. Played in the afternoon if just over 3 hours. You feel like you are in the country out there.
