About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Surprised and Pleased
This place is going to be even better as the crew continues with the tender loving care. Although the greens had been punched and sanded, they were really smooth and fast. Tee boxes and fairways were also in really good shape. Lots of water available for the hotter days. Pretty scenic on several holes with really crooked cart paths. Most holes have generous landing areas. The second shot is the key. Lots of elevated greens and plenty of water. The par four #17 is tough. Trouble every where around an elevated green. Hit an accurate tee shot, not to far down range, but don't leave it too far back or you will definitely regret it.....I did. By the way, don't walk this course. Several of the holes have a long walk to the next tee. Club house didn't have much to offer in the way of some real food.
A very good value
The greens are always in very good shape for a course in this price range. The staff in the proshop is always very friendly and helpful. Overall, you can't beat the value for this quality of a course.

Value Golf
I grew up playing here, but haven't had a chance to play it very often since they went to Champion Bermuda. Every time I come back to play I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the greens are. For most of the Summer from tee to green the course is in decent shape, yet very hard-packed and dry if you miss most fairways, but the greens are the highlight of the course. All in all, a great value for the price.

All good in the hood.
Enjoyable course for the money. Course was in good shape but a bit baked from the lack of rain we have had. Greens were topdressed but still rolled good. Average speed. Only complaint would be the two fivesomes on the course. One let me play through after breathing down there necks. The other wouldn't budge. Come on guys! I'm a single!! Skipped a hole to get by them. Smooth sailing after that with a foursome allowing me to play through no problem. Fun track very playable. Go check it out.

Sanded greens
The greens had been sanded , but the course was in great shape. Play a twosome and finished in 3 hours.

Greens, Greens, Greens
The Greens are rolling great right now, even with a little sand on them. All Greens are Elevated so you can not miss a green or you will be chipping up to a green. This course is challenging...you have to know where to miss. Some holes are quite tight on the back side, but its a straight forward course. Can't beat it for $10 weekday round as a hot deal on Golf Now.

Hazards not Kept up Well
Course smells like a sewer/swamp combination. Ponds are kept up poorly and not only look bad, but smell bad. The actual course is decently nice and somewhat challenging, but compared to other courses around Dallas for the same price and better quality, I won't be coming back here for a long, long time.

Great Value with a challenge
This is a great course for the money. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is great and the course was in very good condition. The elevated greens were a challenge for this duffer. Not that I needed an additional challenge but I do wish they would have kept the bunkers instead of filling them in.
Overall, well worth a try.

Weekday value
How often can you play a course with decent greens and challenging for under 20 bucks. This is one of them. It is hot right now, the fairways are fast and firm but overall enjoyable to play. Played on Friday and Saturday. Could use effective marshalls on weekends. Will return many times because of the prices right now

Golf review
This course is excellent for the price, the green and fairways were in great shape. I like the course because of the elevated greens which are definitely a challenge.
The course is challenging but we're glad you enjoyed your round! We've been working hard to keep the course in excellent shape.
Excellent Value for the Money
I really enjoyed my round at Country View. The course was in excellent shape and only had to wait on another group on a couple of holes. It's location was very easy to find and just a few minutes off IH-35E.

favorite challenging course around
This course is fun to play because it is short, but don't let the length fool you it is a very tough course! Almost every green is elevated 20 to 30 feet above fairway. Very slick greens, around the US Open, it's in their recording, "greens as fast as the open!" And they are right. Awesome course, one of my local favorites. A must play.

Fun Course
Country View was a fun course to play. It's not a long course so your drives can come close to the greens, if not on. The greens were in nice condition (soft & green). The course is pretty open so any level of player can appreciate it (especially if you loose lots of balls). The rate to play in the early AM was a bargain and I will definitely be back.

The course is an average course with small greens. However great value for the money.

Nice folks
The course has plenty of fun holes. The course is a bit unique in its layout. Definitely forgiving for the novice and fun for the bogie golfer. My only complaint was the course management seemed a bit lax. The golf carts were stacked up in front of the walking paths, staff drive all over the walkways right in front of patrons, we arrived at lunch time and the bar was not even open for business. It was obvious that the rough had become overgrown and recently was wacked down. The course is a fun municipal course perfect for locals to work out their game on a tight budget. I would not plan to bring a client here, but would have no hesitations to bring a friend.

Nice little track
My wife got us a tee time for Father's Day. We were teamed up with another couple and had a very nice round. The course was in great condition. My wife loved it because is was less than 5,000 yds total from red tees...only one hole over 400yds.

Staff very non customer focused did not want to refund half my round even though course was overbooked and it took 3 hours to complete 9 holes
