Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Love the Layout, Weekend Pace of Play Slow
This course was really a fun and challenging course (especially the back 9). Great bang for the buck. Pace of play on a Saturday was very slow. 5.5 hours for 18. However this was my first time there so maybe it’s better normally. Would definitely play again.
Slow play and No Marshall
I have played CountryView before so I know the course well. I played on Memorial day with a friend and the pace of play was extremely slow. There was no Marshall on the course and there was also no cart girl. There was a twosome in front of us along with a threesome and then a fivesome, all three groups were incredibly slow. They were hitting multiple balls off each tee. We gave up after 14 holes and called it a day as there was thunder in the area. It was so slow, that on the last 7 tee boxes (holes 7-14) the group behind us was on the tee box with us. Without a marshall pushing pace of play, it was a beating.
Fun course, good food and drinks
Just over 3hr round, greens were in great condition, it was an overall great day and round of golf here.
Had a blast!
The course itself was in immaculate condition. The fairways were perfect and really nice to hit irons off of. The tees and greens on almost every hole are elevated so you will most definitely get a workout, but they were a lot of fun. The only negatives were that although we saw the cart girls at the clubhouse upon checking in, we never saw one on the course. Also, all of the water buckets supplied throughout were all empty. We did have a later in the day tee time, so that may have been the reason. This course is very scenic and the staff seemed friendly.
Elevated Greens
This is an average golf course that is priced right. I had the first tee tme and finished in 3 hours. The majority of the greens are elevated and fast. If you hit the green and roll off, you may find your ball at the bottom of the hill. The layout is great. There are no sand traps, but water comes into play on quite a few holes. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. Ladies should check for paper products availability before using the on-course restroom.
Well Kept
Country view is always very well kept by the team. The staff is always friendly and ready to help.
Tricky course, friendly staff, fast greens
Course is in good shape considering the rain and drastic temp increases we had. Greens were consistent and flat (great for the area) and the course was playing tight.
Tricky tee box locations and sloping fairways force you to play smart.
The locals who frequent this place are some of the most interesting, and kind characters I’ve come across. Worth the money and the time to get out here.
Extremely challenging course.
I'm not a good golfer, but this course didn't help. Just about every green is on a plateau with steep hills on all sides, usually leading to water. It's clearly an older course, but still fun, just hard.
Nice and challenging course.
A nice course with an interesting layout. Not intimidatingly narrow, but you'll have to put in some thought right from the tee to have the angles for the green. The elevated green add to the challenge.
