Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Course in excellent condition
The greens are fast and green. Fairways are good and tee boxes solid
Great value and challenge
Country view has always been a challenge with the elevated greens. Inaccurate approach shots are rejected and can make for a long day. Greens were rolling fast and fair. They looked very good would hold a good shot, but you are going to mostly get forward kicks here. I don't think anyone in our group backed up a shot all day (maybe once into an upslope). Tee boxes were not great. Grass issues are not a big deal when you are teeing off, but many tee boxes were difficult to find a spot that didn't put the ball above or below your feet or have a foot in a low spot. Fairways were mostly in good shape.
Second review
Wasn’t going to give this place another shot. But I’d have to say, hot deal was a good value and was pleasantly shocked on how well the course was.. the greens could be a bit faster but due to the rain and mid week probably wasn’t mowed recently, it still rolled true. It’s not my fav course to play but it definitely wasn’t bad at all. Great job country view. I’ll be back soon.
Very nice greens.
Best greens of any of the city courses. Difficult to save par if you miss the green as many are elevated making the chipping a challenge.
The criticism would be the tees and fairways. Not very manicured.
Overall a fun track that will provide a challenge.
I’ll be back…
Neat lay out, sneaky challenging. Greens are tricky, stay below the flags. Could use some time and TLC to address bare spots and grass in fairways but it doesn’t take away from your round. Weird adjustment having no bunkers on course.
Difficult course
Course conditions are good, but it’s pretty tough in a bit of a frustrating way. Nearly every green is steeply elevated which makes them very unforgiving in a not super fun way.
Course
Nice course, staff is very friendly, going to play here more often!
Great course
This course is a great bang for your buck. It’s in a great condition, especially for a public course. There are a few rough parts on the fairway so I would recommend enforcing a 90° rule for carts. Don’t let the shorter overall distance fool you. Playing from the tips will still be a challenge thanks to a strategic layout and water on most holes.
Course is Good, but poorly managed.
Course was a little rough, but overall in good condition. Greens roll fast and true. Pace of play was atrocious. Management refuses to enforce pace of play and was extremely rude. Got kicked off of the 18th hole half way through by the manager with plenty of daylight left because he said that “the course was closed”. We were refused a refund for the remainder of the round. Will not play this course again, and would not recommend it to any person who wishes to be treated with respect.
Waste of time, and lots of it
CV used to be a pretty good little country course with excellent greens and a challenging layout. Been playing here for 15 years. Ever since the City and then the management group took over it's a joke. Greens fair at best, fairways are dirt and pace of play rediculous. Do yourself a favor, play somewhere else.
Great course for the price!
The course is always fun and usually in great condition. The freeze must have hurt them recently but still worth the money! Only complaint if any is pace of play and the fact people drive on the green occasionally.
