About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Improving, but SLOW pace
Course is definitely improving. Greens are nice and rolling well, which is a big upgrade from the last time I played here.
Two big issues:
1) Pace of play. Took 5:15 to play 18 holes. No one on course keeping the pace moving. One tee had 3 groups backed up on it. Need to space out tee times.
2) Range was closed. Yes, it rained a decent amount the day before. But to not even offer mats to warm up on is ridiculous.
Only live 7 minutes away so I'll be back at some point, but won't be in a rush to get there.

Hilly
Great layout and design on this hilly golf course. I was only able to finish eleven holes before rain ended our day but every hole looked fairly straight forward with subtle nuances that would keep you coming back.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Course was in very good shape. Narrow fairways and a change of elevation thru the course create creative shot making both off the tee and from the fairways. Fun course to play!!!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Course conditions were very good. Plenty of elevation which makes the course fun and challenging to the average golfer.

Best conditions I’ve seen there
Played here over 10 times, I gotta say right now is the best condition I’ve ever seen this place. Lush green fairways…the putting greens are on the same level as star ranch if not better…roll very pure. Def challenging track, they don’t over price it either. Brand new driving range. Worth the money.
