About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Good course
Course condition was not bad. Greens were not easy depends on pin position. I enjoyed beautiful sunday afternoon together with two gentlemens. I will re-visit the course for sure!

Crystal Falls GC
It was my first time playing Crystal Falls GC. The facility was great and so were the staff. The course is in Leander, TX with rolling terrain which made it challenging but beautiful. I would certainly play there. We had a great time!

Always worth playing!
I frequent this course, typically in the morning before 9:30. It's always a fast round under 4 hours everytime.
The course itself is challenging with lots of elevation and hills. Once you get to know it, it becomes a bit easier to know where the miss is. For a mostly flat area, this gives a bit more excitement then other courses around.
Current condition is a B, of course it's February so everything is still coming back. Greens are a little choppy but will improve into the spring. Some tee boxes (I play Blue), you won't find many nice grassy spots. Expected this time of year.
Overall, for it's price, I'd play this any time. Always a great friendly staff. Love the variety of some tacos at lunch during middle of the week. Can't wait til next time.

Tight course, slow play
The course was in really good shape for this time of year. Very pleased with that. It’s a tight course where accuracy is critical. The slope of several fairways makes it a little less fun because even a rally good tee shot ends up in a poor location. All that aside, the biggest issue is the pace of play. After a few holes were were stacked up waiting as much as 10 minutes to tee off on the next hole. My wife and I are not fast players and we were struggling with how bad the pace was. Without a doubt this needs to be addressed by either widening the gaps between tee times or utilizing a Marshall to speed up play.

Great golf but slow
The course is tough, very hilly terrain but fun. We unfortunately were stuck behind a shotgun group from 1-15. It was a group of 6 very slow. Apparently this is normal The course needs a marshal to keep pace of play. We are going to try again next week, hopefully better pace

Nice layout in the HIll country of Austin Texas
Played Sunday morning in a threesome. This is a VERY hilly course with great views and lots of topography changes. That said, it also creates some issues with both the layout and the golf. You must curve your ball INTO the slope of the fairway on several holes or a good shot into the middle of the fairway will end up off of it. Greens roll fairly fast, which I love but you better know where to leave the ball on your approach shot. Staff is friendly. Nice carts with GPS, and a new practice facility. The only negative of the new practice area is the lack of a good short game area. All in all I like the course!

Best greens
Love this course! Doesn’t even feel like your in texas. So much extreme topography. Fun and challenging. The only thing I would change is that there is no bunkers. And you could definitely use some on a few of the holes. When you land on certain parts of the fairway you can roll off cliffs or in to creeks. Theres great opportunity for there to be bunkers in certain zones where it could catch your ball and stop it from going ob cause alot of good shots just roll OB
