Point Venture Golf Club
About
Built along Lake Travis in 1971, Point Venture was the first course in Leander, but has been overshadowed since the opening of Crystal Falls. The course has 9 holes that meander through a residential development and is loaded with dogleg holes and mature trees.
Jimmy Demaret designed the course, and his layout features two nasty par 5s. The best hole on the course is No. 7–a scenic hole that starts from an elevated tee box and plays downhill to a green surrounded by a lake.
Getting there : From I-35, exit FM 1431 and drive west approximately 25 miles to Lago Vista. Turn left on Lohman Ford Rd. and drive 8 miles to the Point Venture guard gate.

Overall the courses in great shape but it's one of my favorites so it's really hard to complain about had a great day thanks a lot.
Shot fastest round ever!
I played in less than 3 hours. I was alone and the other players were very nice and let me play through twice when I started my 2nd time around the 9 hole course. 19th hole is good buy needs to serve alcohol but has a good selection of draft and can beers. Also shot one of my best scores of 83 using new Taylormade strip balls and was constantly hitting over 200 yard drives!
Great golf by lake Travis
This was a hidden gem it was a really nice course not too difficult but not easy either. Although this is a 9 hole course it was a ton a fun and conditions were good. The drive to the course was nice the staff was amazing over all a great course.
Great course for the money.
Course is in good shape . Fairways are narrow, greens are small and quick.
Hidden gem
First time out here and I have been missing out. Well maintained course. Definitely has some challenges and makes you play a little smarter out there.
Decent Course - Slow Pace - No Marshals
The course is decent and we like that you can play nine holes. However, after playing there about a dozen times, it's always slow and there's no marshal speeding things along. About half the time, there's also at least one organization or another asking for donations. We'll be taking a break from this course for a while before we play it again.
A Scenic Gem with Friendly Staff and Abundant Wildlife
I had a fantastic experience at this golf course. The abundance of wildlife added a unique charm to the game, making each hole feel like a serene escape. The staff were incredibly friendly, enhancing the overall welcoming atmosphere. The greens were well-maintained, offering a decent challenge without being overly difficult. The picturesque holes provided stunning views that made the round even more enjoyable.
Slow pace
They need a Marshall to move people along the course. Yes it is a nine hole course but there were several times we went three foursomes waiting to tee it off. Took too long to play 18.
