Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Great for beginners
This is a great course for beginners. There are a few obstacles, but the holes are straight and the fairways and greens are in good condition. Great quality for the price you pay. I would recommend this course to anyone, especially new golfers.
Perfect beginner beginner links course
Enjoyable course for all skill levels of golfers. Open fairways with minimal trees. Difficult to lose your ball. Great variation in par 3’s and par 5’s
General lack of awareness
Had I known that the high school golf team walked each hole, refused to let my fiancé and I play through, and just overall did not give a flying eff about pace of play, I would’ve tried to get there a little earlier and ignore the mid afternoon test time. It took 90 minutes to get through the first 5 holes until they left, another 45 to get through the next 6 holes, and then a different group of high school kids equally unaware of pace of play rules. Ended up just skipping 12-16 entirely, played 17-18 and went home knowing I should’ve asked for a refund for the afternoon.
I’m totally aware this is by no means the courses fault but good lord, track your carts and send a Marshall to wave faster players through. Easy enough course overall, very flat and they make good use of the land they have. Greens were a touch inconsistent but you could easily tell what speed the greens played walking up to them. Teach the kids to be aware of their surroundings(or risk being hit into) and I’ll happily come back to see what a full 18 holes is like at Lake Park.
Wide Open, Forgiving, Fast
Course was a good fit for my skill level - wider fairways, minimal trees, and no dog-legs.
Greens had very little break, and were very fast.
Course was in great shape despite the heat and drought.
Great value
Great pace of play, and very good conditions considering the amount of play they get! Will be back!
