Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Fun, Wide Open Track
This course is really fun for a mid handicapper, as almost every hole is pretty wide open and forgiving. You can basically see the whole course from the clubhouse.
For as hot a day as my round was, the tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The greens were dry and fast, only bummer was they had sanded them, so may have thrown off the reads a bit. I still felt they rolled pretty true, the sand took out some of the break. You gotta do that a couple times a year so didn’t mind,.
The range and practice greens are quality, good choices were good too. All in all a great experience and value for the money. Will definitely recommend and will definitely play again.
Lake Park 18
Been playing this course just this year so far and love it. One of my favorite courses in the DFW area if not my favorite so far. Only Par 70 though. Grass is in good shape in fairways and on greens. Great layout and not a ton of trees so pretty good for beginners; but some tricky greens you want to think about how to approach the pin so it’s good for experienced golfers too. Also, the course’s layout allows for a few trips to the clubhouse if needed and we saw the cart girl four or five times in my last round so nothing to complain about there! I’ll be back!
They need more shades ( planting Trees)
This course used to have more tress which helped the players to use the shades on the hot sunny day. For the past couple of years they cut many tress on the Couse perhaps to due last year freeze or being sick and dead. Unfortunately they did not replaced the cut trees with the new ones. This Couse need more trees for better defining each hole better and create more pleasant layout for players.
Finally a Marshall on course
Love this course... Not a tough course but great for a fun round with friends!! Pace of play has always been a problem in the past but this time a Marshall was on course and nudging folks along. Finished a round in 4 hours!! Thank you for getting a marshal!!
Great forgiving course
I really like this course cuz it’s a lot of bang for your buck. The course is in pretty good condition and very forgiving for most tee shots and second shots. However the greens offer a good challenge!
Saturday AM
I’ve played LP18 several times before but never 6:30am.
And I was in for a treat. I was solo and got paired up with the the weekend regular group. They were very chill and awesome folks. The pace of play was outstanding for the amount of people on the course.
The course was in great condition that day too.
Can’t wait to go back and hopefully get paired up with the same OG’s.
Course drains well
2 inches of rain the night before so it was cart path only. Course was wet yet very payable
A Course to Play Again
If you want to work on your game this is a very good course to play over and over again. It allows to concentrate on your swing and skills and not worry about the difficulty of the hole. I take my rounds of practice here to more challenging courses and put it to use. I always have fun on Lake Park 18 and my game improves.
