Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Nice easy playable
Nice course very forgiving pace of play this day and time was very nice
still in the best shape i have ever seen it in the last 8 years
I have to agree with the review from 3/26 no one announced the starting times that is the only issue i had ( they have a whole new crew in the pro shop.) There has never been a starter or marshell at lake park in the 8 yrs i have been coming here so nothing new there. But as my last review stated this course is in fantastice shape. a little high on the walking rate compaired to most courses but if the course stays in this kind of shape i have no problem paying the higher walking rate. now that i know they do not announce the tee times anymore i will set my alarm for 20 min prior so i can get to the tee box on time.
Keep the up the good work in keeping the course in great shape.
Always a great challenge
I enjoy playing this course because it seems wide open but you can find trouble. Shot placement is very key because the greens are very tricky. My favorite hole is the drivable hole 8 but try to get too aggressive and end up either in the water on the right or the fairway of the 6th hole. I will be back to play as this course is one of the closest to me at a reasonable price.
Lake Park
Tee time was 11:42 actually teed off at 12:30 there is no starter club house use to announce first hole tee times and pairings but not on this day. This was a Saturday and the course was very busy, only one beverage cart working the entire course seen the cart one time in 15 holes. Didn't finish the last three hole because they were backed up three groups, it shouldn't take four in a half hours to play this course. With no Marshall and the there's nothing I can do about it staff buyer this course is going down hill. The greens are in bad shape possibly do to all the recent rains, Ive seen this course in much better condition and it used to be a fun easy track however something has changed and not for the good.
okay
The course was in average condition for this time of year. Fairways and rough would have been better if not cut so short. Course lacks marshals to move slow players along. Could have been finished 30-45 minutes sooner except for a two some and threesome in front of the us. There were three in my group. The guy was teaching his girl to play and the three-some had two walkers that didn't know what ready golf is.
Easy Fun
Everything is pretty wide open and right in front of you. Fairways are wide and receptive - and there is virtually no rough.
Greens are in good shape and fast enough to keep you interested.
Flat enough to walk, but most do take a cart.
I'll be back.
course is in the best i have ever seen it in.
home course. been coming here over 8 yrs. new staff so i do not know anyone. the few i saw where very polite and professional. course is in the best shape i have ever seen it in. fyi the snap shots above are not of lake park. they took the gps out of the carts, i walk so no issue there, however they need to out the red, white and blue colored flags in like most courses without gps use to let players no if the pin is in the front, middle or back of the green. thats the only downside. play this course if you dont want to lose a ball. as bad of a slice as my brother has even he doesnt lose golf balls at this course. if you go into the bunkers just pick it up and move it out. bunkers are like concrete, they have always been that way and will tear your clubs up.
We are getting there
This is my home track. Basically were I learned the game. I wish that arcis would put their money into this course and make it better. It makes the money and the people who are there are like family. Make the tee boxes better make the greens amazing and lightning give it a identity ... but corporate peeps don’t listen to what keeps the lights on. Anywho. Great great track fun convienant and getting better .. the staff you can tell has amazing pride in their course and job so they give you the best with what they are given. Keep it up guys ! It is much appreciated and recognized ! Buck
Fun, relaxing course to play
For winter conditions, the course was in good shape! Not many people during my round as I played in 2 1/2 hours as a single. Staff was super, super nice and they had decent Taylormade M2 clubs for rent.
Overall, a good forgiving relaxing course to play!
Good condition.
Course is in good shape. Nothing outstanding about this course but it is in good condition. Reasonable greens, not too fast or slow and smooth with few flaws or random weeds. The carts used to have gps but they have removed them but not a big deal if you have your own range finder. Our pace was great as it was a little cold and we went off about 12:30. Course is on the easy side. Very forgiving links type course. Not many hazards. Just a few sand bunkers and a few water (lake) hazards. Course lends itself to low scoring. I have played here many times and will continue to play. They have good prices, especially on off-peak times. Par is 70.
Great value!
I play this course at least once every two weeks.. I love the customer service and the course layout at Lake Park. This course is great for beginners as it is very forgiving to the player.I look to master this course and invite my buddys out to impress and beat them!
Good for ego
This course is a pretty good value for the money, especially if you play during the week. It's also a very easy course ... you're not often penalized for a bad shot. The course is kept in very good shape, though, greens included. The pace of play leaves a lot to be desired at times. I've played this in three hours in the past. This round was over four hours, albeit on a Saturday.
Fair-average
The course is pretty easy. I'm a 10 handicap and shot 1 over from the white tees. Greens had grass on them, but weren't very smooth with some weeds. Course is pretty wide open.
Rest time
Team has done a lot to fix this place. Clubhouse exhaust fan is always out. Smells like a burger. Best hot dogs ever. Fresh buns. The dog got smaller though. Most water containers empty. 102 degrees. Club house cashier grumpy. Some are friendly he is not. No cart service.
The course is in th best shap I have seen it.
