About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Easy Course
Decent course for he money. Wide open with no real hazards in play. The greens are in good shape but roiled slow during this round. Enjoyable stress free round where you may shoot a personal best. The only negative is because the course is easy a lot of beginners play there impacting pace of play. I’ve never seen a marshal on the course so be patient as it may take a while to get the round in.

Fun course
Although it is not a difficult course to play it is quite fun. There are not many hazards and the Texas heat has hurt the fairways where there are numerous brown patches, but it's that time of year. Definitely recommend playing it. Well kept.

This course is always in great shape, you will never be disappointed the greens roll great and the fairways are always green and plush even during an August drought

Not bad
My biggest problem was the 6 in front of us. Course was well maintained and I only lost two balls in water.

Get What You Pay For
Lake park provides a fun, easier course. The layout is slightly confusing, and a bit chaotic with errant balls easily flying into other fairways. (also the group in front of me played to the wrong green on hole 18). However, for the price, this is exactly what you would expect: okay greens, decent fairways, inconsistent rough.

What is pace of play?
My initial impression of the clubhouse was "wow this place looks pretty cool" but I waited for the person in front of me to check in and that's when I had my doubts. Somehow this guy in front of me is able to book a tee time in person and start before me even though everything before 8:57(my tee time) was booked. Okay, cool, none of my business but I would've at least liked the opportunity to start early IF something was available for them who didn't even book a tee time. After that the driving range was really nice, good view of the lake and decent prices for range balls. Solid range, somewhat small putting/chipping area as there is only room for one person to chip if 2 people are already putting. So we go to the first tee box and they apparently allow 5-somes. From that point I knew it was going to be a long one. Because the starter allowed a 5-some, they forced the single player after them to skip hole one and go straight to the second tee box, okay cool. But the five-some was the main problem and they did nothing about it. They didn't let us play through, and it wasn't until hole 16 that the warden wanted to do anything about it. Waiting 15+ minutes before any approach to the green and having 3 groups behind us waiting was just not a fun experience at all.
This place is a hard no from me.
