About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Not bad
My biggest problem was the 6 in front of us. Course was well maintained and I only lost two balls in water.

Get What You Pay For
Lake park provides a fun, easier course. The layout is slightly confusing, and a bit chaotic with errant balls easily flying into other fairways. (also the group in front of me played to the wrong green on hole 18). However, for the price, this is exactly what you would expect: okay greens, decent fairways, inconsistent rough.

What is pace of play?
My initial impression of the clubhouse was "wow this place looks pretty cool" but I waited for the person in front of me to check in and that's when I had my doubts. Somehow this guy in front of me is able to book a tee time in person and start before me even though everything before 8:57(my tee time) was booked. Okay, cool, none of my business but I would've at least liked the opportunity to start early IF something was available for them who didn't even book a tee time. After that the driving range was really nice, good view of the lake and decent prices for range balls. Solid range, somewhat small putting/chipping area as there is only room for one person to chip if 2 people are already putting. So we go to the first tee box and they apparently allow 5-somes. From that point I knew it was going to be a long one. Because the starter allowed a 5-some, they forced the single player after them to skip hole one and go straight to the second tee box, okay cool. But the five-some was the main problem and they did nothing about it. They didn't let us play through, and it wasn't until hole 16 that the warden wanted to do anything about it. Waiting 15+ minutes before any approach to the green and having 3 groups behind us waiting was just not a fun experience at all.
This place is a hard no from me.

Easy course
Very short and straightforward course. Pretty easy to score with not much variance since it’s open.

Back in the saddle
I just got back into golf after a fifteen year hiatus. This course is one of four that I play. The fairways are narrow but the rough is very forgiving. You can manage a good second shot even from the hills between the fairways. The greens were in very good shape. The difficulty is all in the pin placement. Over all, on this course, straighter is better than harder. Good luck.

Definitely Coming Back
The course is a little confusing for the first time coming if you’re used to having lots of trees and bushes to separate the fairways for each hole. Once you get past the first hole or two you get the lay of the land. Staff was friendly and helpful, Bev Cart made the rounds at a good pace and the pace of play was ideal for a Saturday! I’m new to golf this year and found this to be one of the more “forgiving” courses I’ve played on.

Excellent Beginner Course
I am nowhere near a scratch golfer, so this course was perfect for someone like me. It was in great shape, but the hole layout was very basic. Almost every hole was straight with some basic obstacles. Really great course for someone who wants to work on just hitting the ball straight without having to worry overly much when that doesn't work out. I will definitely play again.
