Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.

Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.

The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.

Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Great course for the value. Well worth the drive from Dallas if you’ve got the time. Food at the clubhouse was delicious, staff was extremely friendly, and the the golf was good. I read a review before playing this course that said “if this course was closer to dfw it would cost $100 to play” and that is the perfect description. Check this place out.

This course has a fun layout with yardages that are fair for average and Senior golfers. sand traps are tricky but make you really concentrate on your shots. Besides the great course there are a lot of friendly deer that are walking around it makes it a fun place to play

What a hidden gem

This place is worth the drive. I was looking to take a drive and try something new, and I ended up being highly impressed. The property is beautiful, with high end homes and great trees. Deer everywhere. Fairways were perfect and greens were fast and true. If this place were in DFW area it would be north of $100. Try it out, it is a gem

Fun, challenging, and beautiful course

The first time I played, I didn't expect much. It seems short by what the scorecard says and I figured it would be ok but not challenging. I was wrong. It was in great condition, and quite challenging for such a short course. You can hit driver of several holes but on others you may want to hit a 3 wood or 3 iron off the tee. Depends on your distance. For example, hole #3 is only 300 yards from the tips and I was able to drive the green. The front nine and back nine are quite different. The front is tighter with trees lining the sides. The back is a little more open but wit quite a bit of water. Overall, the course is great and I really like it. I like it so much that I now live across from #15 tee on the lake. The staff is great and you'll enjoy it. If you like deer, we have a lot of them here. They'll be out on the course with you.
