About
Hidden Falls Golf Club is a Leon Howard design that opened in 1974. The course cuts through a pecan grove on the front and what seems like an ocean of water on the back, creating two totally different golf experiences. Howard uncharacteristically left out water on the tight, pecan-lined front, with the wet stuff in play on only one hole. However this one pond plays a role in the best hole on the course, no. 4, which features a pond and waterfall in the landing area off the tee. No. 4 is rated as the most difficult. The more open back nine is dominated by water. No. 10 starts off with a drive of 200-yards-plus over the pond fronting the tee. A small creek comes into play on the next three holes, which lead you to the other signature hole, no. 14. Water lines the left side of the 14th, and the approach is over a small pond. If that's not enough, the final three holes all feature water in play off the tee.

Hidden falls review
This course was very nice. Really liked the set up
Unusually high grass on fairways
The overall course conditions were good. Pace of play was great. The only unusual thing was the fairway grass was as high as the rough. No roll at all on a good drive. I would play there again.

handy neighborhood course, fun to play
The course is set in a neighborhood, but unless you really spray your tee shots, you should stay out of back yards. There is water and some elevation changes, but you can leave your sand wedge at home...zero sand anywhere. Very friendly staff, a short and long game practice area, and a restaurant. All for a very reasonable price.

Meh
Greens were good but layout is not the best. Fairways are way to thick and not mowed down.

A True Hidden Gem!
We felt welcomed from the time we walked in the pro shop. The gentleman working was very personable and welcoming, gave us a yardage book and some pointers about the course.
The winter grass they've put in the fairways is incredible and they are much greener and fuller than your average Texas course at the end of "winter".
Only slight complaint was the tight tee shots on the front nine. The surrounding homes were beautiful and I'd hate to damage one with my subpar accuracy! (more of a me problem than the course though).
All in all a fantastic time and we'll be making the hour drive out to play again soon!

Great Place to Play
Pro shop staff very friendly and accomodating. The course was in decent shape and is challenging especially if you are off the fairway. The restaurant food is better than the average golf course food. Could be that it's in the middle of a housing development where it's open of all comers. Would definitely recommend this course.

Fun time
Had a great time at Hidden Falls. Used to be called Meadowlakes the last time I played there. Pace of play was excellent till a threesome jumped in front of us on hole #7. 3 players only 2 sets of clubs. Obviously local players. Greens in good shape and grass on fairways. Better than most Hill Country golf that lets their fairways go dormant. Liked it so much I'm headed back next week.
