Hidden Falls Golf Club
About
Hidden Falls Golf Club is a Leon Howard design that opened in 1974. The course cuts through a pecan grove on the front and what seems like an ocean of water on the back, creating two totally different golf experiences. Howard uncharacteristically left out water on the tight, pecan-lined front, with the wet stuff in play on only one hole. However this one pond plays a role in the best hole on the course, no. 4, which features a pond and waterfall in the landing area off the tee. No. 4 is rated as the most difficult. The more open back nine is dominated by water. No. 10 starts off with a drive of 200-yards-plus over the pond fronting the tee. A small creek comes into play on the next three holes, which lead you to the other signature hole, no. 14. Water lines the left side of the 14th, and the approach is over a small pond. If that's not enough, the final three holes all feature water in play off the tee.

Large groups
Greens were beautiful. Fairways so-so. Pace of play slowed when we caught up with a group of 6. Skipped them only to catch a 5-some.
Hidden Falls in great shape
The greens and fairways were in great shape for this time of year. Some softness around the edges of the greens but the greens were slick and fast.
Fun Course
This was my first time playing this course and it was fun. Practice facilities were excellent. There' are separate chipping, putting and driving ranges. Though dry, the ground was very soft on the chipping range and kicked up a lot of dirt.
The course didn't have any sand traps but had several extreme doglegs, some water hazards, elevation changes and some blind tee shots; all of which force you to manage the course and not always use a driver off the tee. I didn't use my driver until hole 7 playing from the tips. Trees were strategically placed in a couple of fairways so shot placement is essential.
It hadn't rained in a few days but I could see where water drains and puddles; not sure of how well this course actually drains. A couple of tee boxes were very narrow. I ended of hitting a bad tee shot from one of them (of course blaming it on the narrow tee box). There were a few spots where there was no grass and just dirt; small patches of dirt that we kept finding.
Fairways and greens were the best I've seen this time of year behind Stonetree in Killeen. The guy behind the desk was friendly. This is a must play course!!!
Golf etiquette
There was a threesome in front of us. They were playing very very slow. They need to learn golf etiquette and offer to let us play through. They were not only holding us up but many groups behind us.
Convenient
I live in Horseshoe Bay and only play the courses there occasionally due to price. Driving to Meadowlakes is a short trip and the price is reasonable. The course is always in good shape, the greens not too fast, the way I like them, but challenging. Everyone is friendly including the golfers. There are no sand traps, but the course makes up for that with its water hazards and rolling terrain. Nice course
Poor management
Course is great, there was a time that the back nine would always be a sloshing mess, and considering the little rain we've had recently, it was still a bit mushy. If they'd only schedule tee times a little farther apart or something. I played by myself, played 3 separate balls and kept having to wait, at every single tee box, I eventually just started working my short game around the greens to kill time. So I definitely got my money's worth!
Great Course - Fun holes
The course was in great shape. Grass we green throughout. they seeded the greens a week ago so they were a little hairy but still rolled true and stuck well. I enjoyed the course. Used every club in my bag.
For the price and value, I would recommend this to anyone.
Only complaint is a couple of the tee boxes are too small. Members should build them up over the winter season. Ex #12 - par 4 by the fence
Course has all features except sand
Great course for all levels, 3 or 4 water carries.
Hidden Falls for Convenience
The Hidden Falls Golf Course is located within a private community called Meadowlakes that is in the City of Marble Falls. This is a good little walking track that is kept in decent shape. There is a short game practice area with a practice bunker although there is no (sand) bunkering on the course and a full driving range. The Greens are very Furry and Slow but hold nicely. The locals are friendly but if your not careful depending on weather and time of year...you can get caught behind either the womens regular group or the mens game and then your Stuck like Chuck so ask when booking! I was told this was an old Pecan Orchard and there are plenty around to snack on as your playing!
compares poorly
fairways were thin and greens were rough. At least three other courses in the area are in better shape and cost the same. Staff were indifferent and sparse.
Well worth the trip
My wife and I traveled an hour to play the course and it was well worth it. Loved the layout and the challenging greens. Our only disappointment was the the cut of the fairways. They were pretty shaggy and there was no second cut to establish rough verses fairway which quickly cut the roll of a drive significantly whether you went right down the middle or not. Overall we enjoyed the course and would play it again and recommend it to others.
Great Value
Nice course cut through a quaint development. Will definitely play here again.
Course was in great shape.
Greens were in great shape, fairways allowed you to get under the ball. Staff was friendly. Will return again
fun and friendly
course is in better shape than I thought.staff are Awsome I drive 100 miles from San Antonio to play here and I love it staff has done a great job after the floods.Go play here you will be glad you did.
Nice course
I liked the layout of this course. It is not easy but neither extremely difficult. Wide fairways and lots of dog legs holes make it very interesting course to play. It is in good shape although fairways are not Bermuda grass and little harrier than a perfect course however you can play without problems. Greens and sands are well mantained.
Hidden gem
While this isn't the nicest course you will ever play it is pretty darn nice for a muni. Hidden near downtown Marble Falls, I am kind of surprised that you never see the river... It is fairly easy, but does have some tricky holes that you have to hit in the right spot, but overall for the money it cannot be beat.
Super friendly, beautiful setting, a new fave!
In hindsight, should have skipped #10 and #11 entirely due to still just realllllllly muddy. One of our new favorites!
