Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

What you see is what you get
This is an old Muni in fair shape. Not too difficult, but the greens are bumpy. Keep the ball in the fairway and you can score. Pace of play for the front 9 is a little slow. Back 9 was ok. Our round was a little over 4 hours.

The course hadn’t been mowed, the greens were rough, the grass in the fairways was up to my ankles on some holes

Good value
Good price and nice people working there.
Green is skidding with quite a bit of sand on the surface. Once you are off the fairway, you need to carefully address the lies since the grounds are pretty hard and not so well maintained.

Horrible greens condition
Greens were heavily sanded they were just yellow sand. Course should let the customers know off this so we could make our choices. At least it should be at discounted rate.

Greens Overtaken by Poa Annua
Rough roll on greens due to invasion of Poa annua grass which is a nuisance. Otherwise, I enjoyed the course.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate your business. Oak Hollow Golf Course thanks you!
Disappointed
Always has been one of my favorite courses however this time the greens were in horrible conditions. Many of them had no grass at all, I was told it was because they get a lot of play? Well all the courses in this area do too but they have grass growing just fine. Also, the fairways looked like they have not been given any attention is quite a while? I will wait a couple months before going back and hopefully they will have a better handle on the courses care.

Oak Hollow
Fairways in good shape. GREENS need a lot of work. At least 3 different types of grass and bumpy. It will be a fun course when the greens are manicured correctly.

Oak Hollow Tragedy
This time last year the course was in better condition. The greens are terrible and not worth the money to play. The pace of play was so terrible that I was walking and still waiting on two groups in front of me. It’s hard to believe that I paid money to play here.
We apologize for the pace of play issue and the course conditions you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

Course is in good shape for the time of the year. Staff as always is / was awesome. Please consider moving the red /gold tee boxes on holes 4 and 5 across the opposite of the cart path and the red / gold tee box on 10 closer to the center of the fairway. There are trees directly in front of the tee boxes. Also on weekends and holidays, please consider starting on hole 10. The traffic flow gets congested due to golfers wanting to stop by the pro shop at the turn. As you know at Oak Hollow it's a there and back travel and not a pass by as with most other courses.
Hello, thank you for visiting us at Oak Hollow Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
