About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

My take
New golf course for me and my buddy. Played at 11:40 and everything was going good until hole 17. Because the group ahead of us was a five-some and Marshall’s at the course they were in no hurry. Seemed like a little entitlement factor, but could be wrong, just my take. Got to hole 17 at 2:30 and didn’t finish until almost 3:30. Little to long to play two holes. Greens are fast and true. Fairways grass is nonexistent, so, I’ll leave it at that. People checking in were friendly. May be back, but may not.

Great day!
The staff was very friendly and the course is in good shape for January. I arrived as a single but they hooked me up with two other gentlemen. We played in 3 hours. Great day at Oak Hollow.

Short course, great for Iron play!
Par 70, not built for long drives…unless you want to drive the greens, which is not really that realistic in most scenarios. But you can easily just play your irons and work on shaping and positioning.
Greens were in good shape and all of them had true rolls.

Good for the money but stock up on beverages at the club house
Just like the title says, this is a good course for the money. Staff is overall very friendly. Course stays in pretty decent shape, but if you like to enjoy a beer or two while playing you better get it from the clubhouse before you start. I never see the beer cart when I play here. I know it exists but it’s like sighting Bigfoot. Also be prepared to be here for at least 4.5 to 5 hours if you’re playing 18. No play throughs for the most part and the course is frequented by 4somes of older golfers so pace can get a little slow.

Good course and value
My regular place to play. Much better than average muni. Staff is always friendly, Pace of play is good and what you'd expect for the day of the week. Fair value and some holes will test you.

Very - Very Nice Golf Course!
First, the staff is very friendly! Love the driving range so close to the pro shop. This is an excellent course, very challenging and nice amenities. I would definitely recommend this course and will always play here, heck it is only a few miles from my home.

Oak Hollow
Like the course, have issues with some of the fairways conditions. Pace of play can be an issue with the Bryson wannabes. Otherwise a really fair value.
Not Happy
Unable to play because of family illness .
Called the phone number on course web site a number of times and got no one.but recording saying no one was available. Left a message. The weather turned rainy and cold since no one answered the phone I don’t even know if course was open.. I was going to request another day this week but will look elsewhere.

Not too bad
Other than the 6 hour round the course was solid. I got it on a hot deal but I’m not sure if I would pay full price to play there again
