About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Awful Greens
Played this course because the reviews said the greens were in great shape. That is not the case at all. They are all dead and bumpy. Not worth your time to play here.
Great course for walkers, good greens!
First time here, I was curious because I've heard the greens were in good shape and it's walker-friendly...Yes and Yes! Fairways were dormant, to be expected for this time of year, but the greens were relatively fast and rolled true! Nicely designed track, challenging enough for single-digit players, friendly enough for those weekenders and one of the better values around. And if you prefer to walk, this is definitely one to play!
Great value, Good course, Great people
My brother and I play here at least twice a month. It is a fair course but challenging as well. You can play a round on Saturday or Sunday in 4 hours or less. Awesome cart girl. Just good friendly staff. Play here once and you will be back.

worth the drive
the staff is fantastic. the course was in good shape. pace was moderate due to a 70 degree day in december but everyone was respectful and enjoyed the day.
WAY TOO SLOW - COULD NOT FINISH!
The course was extremely wet from recent rains - OK no problem there - it is nature. Cart path only so of course that slows play - but then to have a tournament with each player playing 2 balls per tee is insane. It. I had a 12:18 tee time, got on at 12:45 and was on the third tee box at 1:30! Had to leave after 16 due to time.
Love this course
Always love playing this course. Today, the outside men's restroom by the clubhouse was just horrific, nastiest rest room I have ever seen and smelled.
Course is in the best shape I have ever seen it!
Steve I love that you guys have worked so hard on this public course! Greens, tee boxes and fairways are in amazing shape. I like that you let the grass grow out in the out of bounds which makes the course harder somewhat. We will be back! Friendly staff and cart girls!
Bad day of golf
Asside from the greens, the course was im terrinle shape. All of the ball washers were broken. The pace of play was very slow mainly because most fairways and some entire holes, tee to green, were no access to carts. The were no marshalls on the course and there were 4 sitting outside the clubhouse after I finished my 5 hour round. Bad experiemce
Could be better
Well designed, really good greens, lots of elevation, not so good fairways and rough. For some reason, the non-green areas are not sufficiently watered, weeded or fertilized. lies in the fairway are much tighter than intended and lies in the rough are frequently hard pan dirt. Prices have risen this year, which is absurd. A big plus is that the course is walk-able when the weather is cool.
