About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Alright course
We played on a beautiful day, however the hole placement on the greens are awful. The best grass on the course were on the tee boxes. I know its still late winter and we have yet to get a good rain, however, no major reason for the extremely hard and fast greens and fairways.
Nice place for the price
Scheduled tee time through GolfNow for around 30 bucks. Course was in pretty good condition for late winter months. Fairways were fairly hardpan but still pretty playable. Course not too difficult. Arrived on time as a single and was given the option to play with group in front of me who were great guys. Enjoyed the round. Course marshall and clubhouse staff were really friendly and helpful. Driving range is good for driving practice but wouldn't practice irons too much as soil is very compact. Overall good outing with nice staff. Will play again in summer months to see if fairways play softer.

Power Line Course
This course seems like it was just thrown together on land where power lines travel through. Weird layout, and the pace of play was so slow it was impossible to get in a rhythm. The green were as hard and fast as playing on concrete. I won't be back.

slick greens
Not sure whether it was hard winter grounds or if it always plays this way but the greens were cartoon fast. You could hit the hole on a putt and have the ball roll right back to you.
First, thanks for coming out to play. Second, the greens can get a little quick this time of year so keeping the ball below the hole is highly important!
Nice golf course
First time playing there with a great deal from golf now. Is a fair course, 2nd hole is a long par 3 from the blue tees. The 8 hole is very challenging and fun to play. Overall a nice experience.

Oak Hollow
Fast greens... A little sloppy conditions due to rain but ok... A definite go to course...

Great Value at this course.
The course was a little soggy after all of the rain, but overall the course conditions were pretty good. Greens were in very good shape. Fairways were a little thin- but most courses are at this time of year. Overall, not a bad round of golf for January in Dallas.

Many scenic holes. Plenty of challenge for all levels if you play from the proper tees. Fast greens!

Great value
The course is a challenger to all levels.
Now matter what your skill level, you'll find the 8th hole tough to negotiate.
It's not a long course but the layout isn't a walk in the park.
Driving range and putting area will help you warm up. First 3 holes are birdy ready so scoring early helps the scorecard.

Good greens
The fairways were like concrete which is pretty common for a Texas course in a drought. There was a nice amount of grass on the fairways though, especially around the greens. The greens were great however! We were the second group out and we were a pair. The first was a group a foursome and made us wait on 18 tee boxes which meant the pair behind us was standing on the tee box waiting for us to get out of the way all day.

Good municipal course
Greens are in great shape. Not a lot of elevation change to the course but great for amateur golfers. Would recommend this course to my friends

Couple cool holes - the rest look the same.
Too expensive compared to other courses in the area that offer more challenging and scenic design.

Nice course with no sand, but other challenges. Could use more water on tee boxes.

course in great shape
Only complaint I have was the pace of play. We caught up to a threescore and slowed the pace dow. Then found out it was because of a 2 some that was ahead with 2 toddler girls. Guess daycare wasn't an option. But overall it was a nice course for the money

Course in great shap with previous months rain. Small greens, challenging course. Great rates: $20 plus tax for morning play. Hole# 8 bring your A game!!
