Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Can't beat the price
Fun coarse to play, has some challenging holes with water and lots of dog legs. Got the Hot Deal price so was a super great value
Nice round, fun course
Nice round of golf on a fun course. Staff is always friendly and a good value thru golfnow. Fairways a little dry but greens are in nice shape. Some of the holes in the middle of the course are a little close - watch out for your fellow golfer:)
Good course, needs more Marshal's
A beautiful course overall. A bit dried out in areas. The need more supervision from a Marshal to maintain pace of play.
Confusing track poor condition
This course has too many blind tee shots, switchbacks. Course was in poor condition. Greens were ratty and bumpy. I will say that the par 3s are solid holes, but there are so many odd angle drives required. There is one hole that you have to aim into another fairway in order to stay in play. Its just a tight confusing track. Sorry.
Nice Little Course
First time playing Oak Hollow. Staff was very friendly and rates were good. Course was in nice shape. Water available on the course in several areas, which is important during the hot TX summer. Not a super challenging layout from a hazard perspective, but had quite a few dogleg holes and some long par 3s.
Mario
Course was in excellent condition. Staff was extremely friendly. It was my first time at this course, and I will definitely go back again.
Good course
For being a municipal, this is a nice place to play. Rates are very reasonable, fairways and greens are in good condition. Also pretty challenging.
Solid course
Had a fun round of golf at this course. The course condition was good. There were a couple of scenic views that enhanced the experience. My only complaint is that two of the holes were a little confusing as to where the fairway was. My golf partner and I had to stop and figure out where to hit. One of the holes was side-by-side with another hole before splitting off in opposite directions. Very confusing. Other than that it is a solid course. I would recommend it to anyone.
Muny Course
Typical municipal course. Nothing special about it. I played here just to get a round in on a Monday morning and I most likely will not play here again. The course was hard and needed water. Pace of play was slow for me (I usually play my rounds in about 3.5 hrs or less and around 2 hours if by myself). They did have a new clubhouse that looks nice but the lights were off when I went in except for at the front desk and bar area. Overall, the course was not in good shape but what do you expect for the price? You pay for what you get at this track.
Course in nice shape
I found Oak Hollow to be in the best condition its ever been and I've been playing there for 8 years. The greens are a bit quick but they are nice and consistent. Had a dog and a cold beer at the turn and popped right back in the game with no delay. Overall, a very enjoyable day. Now, if I can only figure out how to play this game.......:-)
Great day of golf
Went as a threesome, paired with a single. Had a great round and made friends. Great local course!
Don't bother!!!!
This course isn't much more than a cow pasture with 18 flags. Employees don't take any pride in this place. Tee boxes are filthy, only to be outdone by the restrooms.
Bring a hard hat
Not a bad course at all. The greens were pretty nice and quick. Overall the course is a really good value for the money. The only thing that concerned me were balls flying all over the place. I had to duck for cover at least 5-6 times. I would play again if I can get out early in the week but Fri-Sun I will be staying away from here, it's downright dangerous if the course is crowded.
Solid day for Golf
Staff was friendly and course was in pretty good shape.
Had a great time
Really enjoy this course. It can be busy, but for the price its worth it.
Fun little course
Never saw a cart girl till after our round was done. Course in pretty good shape and it was a lot of fun to play. Not difficult, but well worth the money to play.
Great Day
THe wind was blowing but it was a great experience today. I had never played the course before but found it a good test and an interesting layout. The greens were a little patchy but that may be because of the time of the year. Ball cleaners need water on some holes but other than that it was a very good experience. Number 8 is a great hole and is very nice to look at. Thanks for the round.
Afternnon Golf
Both the buying and playing experience was good except for hole 6. This hole could and should be made a little more player friendly for the weekend golfer. Even a good shot for a weekend golfer can wind up unplayable because of the design of the fairway.
Great price, but needs more maintenance
This was my second time here and is fairly priced. In both my trips there was no course marshal to be seen making sure players teed off on time so it was somewhat chaotic resulting in a 15 minutes delay (today). Even though it is early in the spring season the fairway conditions could be better, and the greens are far from being consistent. It is an enjoyable course to play with wide fairways and offers some challenging holes for beginners and intermediates. I would like this course if it was maintenanced better, I but personally will not return to this course as there are better kept courses for a few dollars more. Happy golfing.
golf now tee time 8:55
If a refund or rain check was offered I would have taken it. My tee time got pushed twice and I had toplay with a ggroup way beneath my skill level. Wasn't satisfied.
