Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Very good for price
Very good for price. Greens are in good shape. Layout is good. Fairway and rough could be better !
Perfect spring day for golf
I was pleasantly surprised by how good a condition the course was in. The greens were really good (& fast): the pace was good; the value was good. I enjoyed myself very much. I will be playing again in the future.
Play elsewhere
In my opinion, there’s no excuse for the course to be in that bad condition with the weather we’ve had. Several times I was in the “fairway” and there was no grass mud and extremely firm like hitting off of concrete. I won’t even get into it if you don’t hit the fairway. In my opinion, look elsewhere, especially for what they charge. The staff was very friendly, but that’s about it.
Didn’t even get to play
I was there at 11:30am for my 12:20 tee time! They filled my spot and then told me to go with another group that would have made 5! I declined and left. Didn’t even get to play the round.
Sick of crappy greens
I wish someday a golf course would give a discounted rate for a round of golf after they get done sanding them considering the green is really the most important part of the round where I can really make or break your score not knowing about sanded greens is number one a huge surprise but number two just not worth $$65 for the round not to mention the fact that the driving range was closed so we had no warm-up!
Course in very good shape.
The course is in very good shape. Pace of play was good, being spring break lots of families with kids so a little slow. Staff was very attentive and did a good job.
Fun Course/ Good Value
Fun course to play, several of the holes can be a real challenge for golfers of any level. Hole 8 is a monster, no place to go right, left trees. Good luck. All in all this course is worth the price. Nice staff.
Overall
This course is taken care of nicely (just need the players to help sand pivots and use a tool on the green). The staff is one of the best around. It's ran very well, from the knowledgeable counter, friendly and good meal staff, starters and marshalls all the way to everyone taking care of the course/range. Friendly and courteous players and haven't found anyone i wouldn't play with when I've been there.
Too Expensive
This course is supposed to be an affordable city course, but it has really gotten expensive. 74 year old man playing 9 holes. Gets dark at 5:30 so we tried to get 9 holes in after 2:30. $44.00. Rediculous, should be $25-$30 tops. This is not that nice of a course. Should senior rate, winter rate, twilight rate. And the cart was dirty with torn seat. Changes need to be made for seniors. Thank you.
Worth for the price
Course offers some challenges, requiring precision @ the t-box. Pace of play is acceptable, only delay are the senior’s players that can’t play at our own pace, and it’s acceptable if you’re not hurried. Staff is very respectful and t right on point. Greens left something to desire for (maybe due to the season) first time playing so can’t judge that part. Players are very friendly and most of them are Veterans which makes it much more important to be surrounded by good people.
