Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Golfer Reviews
Greens are nice!!
Soft but fast greens but overall well maintained great course!!
Best public course in DFW
Title says it all, and the greens are up there with the private clubs as well.
Great Green and Value
The course was really fun and the greens were in great shape. The fairways were super dry and hard and then ball would roll forever. It was fun to play though and our group had a great time.
CLEAN UP THE TREE DEBRIS than…
Take out the tree stumps than plant new trees All because you did not take care of the wonderful old trees that made this course a nice track. Now you got Tree debris that scattered all over the course. Come on city of Mesquite get your crap together!
Unfortunately, this course will never be the same, but it can be fixed somewhat Until then, I won’t be Playing it much anymore.
Mesquite is my home course…but…
Mesquite is my home course as I only live 10 minutes from the course…so naturally I’m there all the time when I’m trying to get practice in or if I can get a decent round in….the only problem is the staff. The few guys who run the place are quite rude when it comes to asking questions or even bringing coolers when it’s 102° outside!! With Gatorade and waters might I add…not sneaking in. I understand the course wants to use their own coolers but that’s for beers. Not for Gatorade and waters. They’re rude all around but the course is outstanding for a city course!!
Great Place
This place is great for the price. The starter gave a Talk about the greens and how fast they run, time expected to finish, tips to miss short. Everything he said was true except that our round did not take 4:15. It took 4:40. For this course it shouldn’t take that long. They have a Marshall, think things could have been sped up a bit.
The course itself has a great layout. Played from the tips at ~6,800 yards. Made some of the tee shots, especially on the par 3’s challenging to where you have to shape shots. With more course knowledge now that I’ve seen it I could definitely fire a better score. Greens rolled true and pretty quick, but I’ve played faster green, like Pecan Hollow in Plano. Only green that had noticeable issues was #17 on the right side. Had to out thru some dead area. All in all you should definitely go check this place out.
Amazing course
This course was amazing! The greens were awesome, course layout, pace of play, kind staff, and difficulty was amazing! Definitely a course I’ll be coming back to often!
Excellent greens
Greens are excellent. Walkers are too slow and and Marshall just drives around and does absolutely nothing.
Solid Value, True Greens
Solid course overall, staff was friendly and the course layout called for some course management as opposed to all straight shots off the tee. Would definitely come back for the price.
Great Course for the Money
The conditions in general and the overall value you get at this track are one of the best in the DFW area. The only way we continue to grow the game of golf is to provide an affordable, yet attractive place to learn the game.
