Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Could be a good course
The course has a lot of potential but is not unkept well at all, almost all the sand traps need more sand and to be raked. Greens aren’t great either, alittle pricey for the condition.
Real. Texas . Golf
Nice course layout, greens in good shape and great pace of play. Also a nice value for the price of a Hot Deal on Golfnow
Weeds, good greens
Greens were in good shape, but nobody repairs ball marks. Could have fixed 20 on every green. Fairways were fairly bald and hard. Lots of weeds emerging, several greens weeds have started. Great layout and good value to walk 9 holes.
Awesome
Lives up to the hype. The greens are unreal. I was told they were great and it turned out they were perfect. 15/10 I will be here regularly. Overall course layout was enjoyable and challenging and I love the big distances between tee boxes to make it different every time I go
No Mas
We had a foursome and my 8 year old who takes about 10 strokes a round stopped by on a Thursday afternoon. Price is inflated for the course. Not bad layout and in pretty decent condition. My issue is they wanted us to separate because my son was with us. He said the city makes the rules and there’s no fivesomes. I explained that he mainly rides and it was a twilight tee time. He said that’s city rules. I have been here before and been stuck behind fivesomes. That was ridiculous. The Marshall did say just clear the first hole and it will be ok. We were literally the last group for the day. When we got to seven with 45 minutes or more of daylight the clubhouse sent a Marshall to the middle of the fairway to say carts need to be up by dark. Well we can’t play if we can’t see and I paid full price for a twilight. That irritated me. I told him we would skip 8 and play 9. He said man, ok but you got 5 minutes. You need to hustle. Kiss my grits. I will never spend my money here again.
Very Surprised
Best condition I've seen the place! Greens were in good condition little bumpy more so lack of ball mark repairs though. Fairways firm
