Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Mesquite GC update
We popped back out to Mesquite & had a great time. Was very hot, no one ahead of us & played in 3.5 hours. Best muni greens in DFW, course still very good conditions even with the heat. Will be going back soon. Everyone is extremely nice too.
Greens are always good
Alway enjoy a round here. Course is in good condition especially since we haven’t had rain in a while.
Have to hit off mats at the range and play with random people sometimes. I personally can’t stand playing golf with people I don’t know. And sharing carts is annoying. Got paired with a guy who was terrible and had to chase his ball around all over the place. They are so worried about pace of play but paired me with some guy who couldn't hit it 100 yards. Just make everyone show their skill at the range. Bad golfers make slow play. Not 3 somes.
Go for the greens
Great value course for DFW. A few quirky holes, 16 comes to mind. But honestly the best public greens in DFW. Whatever they do, everyone else needs to take notice. So many $70-95 tracks out here that don’t compare at all when it comes to putting surface. At the end of the day, fast, honest greens are what you want in a course.
Great Course
Course was in great shape, greens a little hard to read but overall a very pleasant experience. Staff was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Will be back and have already recommended to friends.
Great Greens
Course is in wonderful shape. Greens very nice for putting. Some challenging holes. Wonderful bang for your buck!
I didn't know
To start off I read the reviews of a course, one lady said the Marshall is a racist. Another said they yelled at me. I spoke with 3 Marshalls today, great guy's. Shut up and play golf, I say. Poor feelings, you are there to play golf have fun. The course was fun, tight at times. Good par three's, challenging par five's. Great staff in the club house, let us tee off 1 hour before tee time. I really had a good time, thank you.
Good value for money just 20 mins east of Dallas downtown
I’ve liked this course since the first time I played it. I think it gives a good value for the money. Layout is nice, with some very challenging / risk reward holes. Green were slower than usual, but they were rolling very decently. For this money you usually get crappy and bumpy greens.
Fairways
Fairways are in worst condition, needs lot of watering. Staff are rude
