Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Great Place
This place is great for the price. The starter gave a Talk about the greens and how fast they run, time expected to finish, tips to miss short. Everything he said was true except that our round did not take 4:15. It took 4:40. For this course it shouldn’t take that long. They have a Marshall, think things could have been sped up a bit.
The course itself has a great layout. Played from the tips at ~6,800 yards. Made some of the tee shots, especially on the par 3’s challenging to where you have to shape shots. With more course knowledge now that I’ve seen it I could definitely fire a better score. Greens rolled true and pretty quick, but I’ve played faster green, like Pecan Hollow in Plano. Only green that had noticeable issues was #17 on the right side. Had to out thru some dead area. All in all you should definitely go check this place out.
Amazing course
This course was amazing! The greens were awesome, course layout, pace of play, kind staff, and difficulty was amazing! Definitely a course I’ll be coming back to often!
Excellent greens
Greens are excellent. Walkers are too slow and and Marshall just drives around and does absolutely nothing.
Solid Value, True Greens
Solid course overall, staff was friendly and the course layout called for some course management as opposed to all straight shots off the tee. Would definitely come back for the price.
Great Course for the Money
The conditions in general and the overall value you get at this track are one of the best in the DFW area. The only way we continue to grow the game of golf is to provide an affordable, yet attractive place to learn the game.
Terrible
Arrived and was told they punched the greens the previous day which isn’t ideal but it is what it is. They took off five bucks…total for 3 of us, not $5 off per person, you’d think it would be $5 off per green fee since all of us have to deal with the punched greens. Front 9 started off fine, waited a bit for the group ahead of us which was waiting in a group in front of them. No big deal, no one behind us, we weren’t in a rush. At the turn the person working the pro shop was hanging out of the door waiting for us to pass by and told us we were behind and to pick up the pace, all the while the group in front of us barely started teeing off on 10. We told him we’ve been waiting on them and they’ve been waiting as well. We roll us to the 10 just to have two marshals tell us to pick up the pace. We tee off on 10 and get to our second shot just to see a third marshal tell us to pick up the pace. We tell all of them to tell the people ahead to pick it up too. Between 10 and 15 or 16 the marshal continues to tell us pick up the pace and finally the reason comes out, the course manager is behind you guys and they don’t want to have him wait. Terribly ran course. Will never come back again.
Great value
Staff is super friendly. Senior age is lower than most. Tough course for me, but I love the challenge. Greens and fairways are in great condition. Bunkers may be the only thing people may complain about. Overall a must play.
Good old Mesquite.
Not much to say about this one for the money you can't go wrong!! The fairways are in good shape and the greens are always a challenge! Fast and sloping. Just a great city course!
