El Dorado at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Eagled the last hole, par 5.
Honestly, it was a hot day and my expectations were low but after stepping foot on the first tee box, I could
Tell it was going to be a fun golf round. I didn’t play my best but I eagled the last hole. Overall it was a challenging course and the greens were in great shape.
Didn't get to play
The course was closed due to weather. Will I get a refund or credit.
Great conditions
Fairways resembled carpeting. Greens smooth and true after being aerated.
Fun course; good track layout
Small but nice pro shop. Driving range was ok, had to hit off mats. Course was in good shape, slightly hard tees on a few holes. Green in good shape, rolled fast but true. Good layout, several challenging holes if you don’t place the ball on your drives. Would recommend and play again :)
Great course with nice layout.
The 10 minute tee times made things tight at times and the bunkers needed work but the greens, fariways, and tee boxes were in great shape. Will definitely be going back.
Texas HEAT
This is Texas....there are very few COLD water stations on this course and La Quinta. There are two water fountains, but they are hot water. Municipal courses have water on every hole and don't cost this much! They should be ashamed. I'm pretty sure OSHA says you must have cool drink water available. The ice chest with little to no ice....that's a serious NO NO. What if someone spit in the ice... It doesn't help that you would have to leave the course of play to go back to the club house to buy water. Cart girls only accept cash and that has been that way for a long time. So no matter what you have to leave the course of play to go buy water if you don't have cash.
Great round
The greens were super fast and fairly consistent even though they had just been top dressed. The rest of the course was in fairly good.Shape bunkers were all cared for In fairway lives were fairly consistent. Even had an ice chest with ice on the eighth hole. Played on a Golf now hot deal for thirty six bucks gatorades were four bucks on the course
Best course and value in the greater Houston area.
I mention this course to folks around Houston. So many folks have never played this course. However, those that have always have good things to say. Fairways and greens are always in good shape.
It was rainy and condition of course was wet
So it didn’t help that it rained on and off the whole round. Enough to be a pest but not hard enough to drench us.
It was slightly windy so kept us cool. Some of the fairways were wet. So the muddy in spots. Sand traps were not well groomed. Some had standing water. Some just not raked.
With GolfNow don’t forget to you have to cancel a round 24 hours before your round.
But who knew about the tornado and heavy rain.
Plus the forecast was for rain til noon. But it rained on us til we ended around 6pm.
The twosome in front were slow.
Not a fan of quail valley’s practice greens and driving range hitting area. Practice greens not well kept . Patchy grass through green.
Double charged from me
GolfNow charged from my credit card but course was charged from me to
Whom can concern can double check and refund of the 34 usd back to me ?
