Very good value for your money
Even though the greens are in rough shape due to winter the layout is worth the visit. Bunkers are not being kept due to Covid so no rakes are available , the player has the option to play it as it lies or deem it GUR and play it from the nearest point of relief.
It’s ok I guess
The course lay out was okay, the course conditions were also average. Some greens needed some work and the cart paths are rugged. I don’t think I would ever pay full price to play here I’d have to catch it on hot deals.
Very disappointed
Farways had very little grass, bunkers were mud and more dirt than sand, first two greens were very sad some of the others had weed growth.
I expected a very nice course based on playing there several years ago.
Wet but very good
Wet play made it hard but the layout is so good it is still a fsir test. Greens need a little love.
I am not saying people are lying but there is no way you could ever rate this course in excellent condition
This course needs to be put to bed it is tired. Greens are horrible and that is being nice. Fairways are over grown need to be trimmed way back to let some grass grow. The people describing it as narrow are technical correct but they are narrow because of lack a maintenance. Tee boxes are ugly and hard you can break a tee trying to put it in the ground. Nothing is good looking about this course at all. I really wanted to like it and have a cool place to play on the lake. If any money was put into this course when it was purchased I don’t see where they spent it. The price to play this course is laughable really. Green overrun with crab grass, I am glad I played during the winter the mud puddles they use for water hazards look like a haven for snakes. Beware
Don’t waste time or money to go to this course.
This course is in horrible shape! Greens are terrible they have crab grass and in bad repair. Fairways are hard with limited grass. The course is not maintained needs a major renovation. The price they want to play is way over what this course is worth you would be better off playing a muni in the middle of no where. There really is nothing beautiful about it. The driving range is about 20 yards wide with balls to n a grey trash can but it is free. Margaritaville missed the mark with the shark fin tee markers cut out of wood that are faded and chipped it really adds to the unkept look. I could go on but I think everyone gets the picture. I drove an hour to ply because of pics and reviews don’t do it!
Cancellation
We were unable to play the course as the tee time was scheduled for Thursday instead of Saturday as I had selected on the app. When we showed up they would not honor our previously paid tee times since it was through GolfNow. Tried to call GolfNow but couldn’t get in touch with a person so we had to drive all the way home. Very disappointed in GolfNow and hope that at the least we can be refunded our money since we had driven over an hour to get to the course.
Greatly improved
Since changing from La Torretta all aspects of this course has improved.
Jimmy this is not Margaritaville
This course is soooo tired, it needs a year off! Greens have too many weeds and crab grass. Looks like they were recently treated but dead spots all over. Why were they allowed to get in this bad of shape in the first place? Seems every hole has a water hazard! Why? It’s suppose to be a resort course! No wonder you can’t get people to play it. Trees overhang making driving a real challenge. Cart paths...hold on to your kidneys because they are in pretty bad shape. If this course got a “redo” recently, someone made out like a bandit? We won’t be back! It’s a shame too because Conroe needs public courses. We went there to play and eat afterwards at Landsharks. Found out the place is closed Monday and Tuesday (LOL). Del Lago, La Torretea (?)...changing names won’t help if your not going to make the course playable for resort guests. Driving range was too small for a driver.
Course is very well maintained with a great layout.
Course is very well maintained with a great layout. A few water and sand traps through the course is a great challenge to improve your game.
On a booked Saturday morning the pace is fast.
Great course. Will be planning to go back soon.
SLOW PACE OF PLAY
No marshall, groups infront hitting several shots per person and no golf course etiquette or Marshall's to regulate the pace of play. I will not come back.

Sorry for your unpleasurable experience, playing as a single on a busy Saturday morning is often the case golfers assume for slow play. As a reminder when playing as a single on weekends you are always encouraged at check in to join other players to make your round more enjoyable. Otherwise the 4-hour pace you played on Saturday might not fit your demands for pace of play.
