The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe

This course is A LOT of fun! I've always loved the layout of this course, and it's in as a good of shape as nearly any course in town right now. The conditions really are great. With the exception of the virus craziness, and some construction going on (as Margaritaville Resort looks like they are working hard to get open this year), it really does feel like you're at a nice resort golf course. I give it 4.5 stars!

With the reconstruction of the resort and this pandemic situation the course was slightly behind on maintenance. Considering everything going on it was great.

The layout is tree lined and long. Fairways and greens have 3 types of grasses and are uneven and bumpy. Pace of play 3.25 hrs for 18 holes. On Golfnow the $33 hot deal is little high. This is a course that’s comparable to 70% of the Houston area courses this time of year that have $20 or less hot deals.

This course has gone downhill severely in the past few months. Greens are terrible

It is a good course that should take care of the greens. Challenging and very nice fairways.

Not Ford, not terrible. Really hoping the margaritaville renovations prompt a refresh of the course. Mostly just upkeep stuff. The fairways are a bit softer than concrete. The greens are close behind but relatively smooth and fast. Carry path can be a bit treacherous if you don't pay attention. Just needs some TLC and could be a good course.

Course was a little wet from recent rains but overall in good shape for January including greens.. great value for Saturday morning

The course was wet do to resent rains. But it was fair the greens were fair and fast. But with wet front it was hard to get close. It will be fun to play this spring or summer to see what you can score with a good bounce or so. With fast greens you need to have front bouce. Over all a good course. Can't wait to have another chance to do better.

The staff friendly as always. Course layout plays long but good mix of right and left doglegs. Greens need some love. Ball marks everywhere. I fix at minimum 6-10 on every green. Course is well maintained, unless you hit in the trees, then 50/50 you will find your ball along with... let me see 18 holes I found 16 balls. Fairways are tight tight lie. The course was extremely wet but they let us 90 degree as long as we payed attention to the soggy areas. Don’t ask about cart paths. Let just say my back needs shocks on its cart. All in all fun Sunday am round with two other singles.

Sunny and 65 degrees. Fairways cut to almost bare. Greens are bumpy. Dormant grass makes for tight lyes. Makes it a little hard to get under the ball but normal for this time of year in Houston Tx. With such a beautiful day course is perfect.

Early hot deal tee time so pace was my own speed. Course Is in good shape but a lot of leaves on the ground. I am sure the grounds crew will get them taken of after thanksgiving break. Greens are good with a couple of patches of foreign grass on them but it does not affect your putts. Make sure and say hi to Ralph in pro shop.

Played from the whites and had an enjoyable round. The par 3s were all around the same distance but the rest if the holes had good variety in distance. Course itself was gorgeous and the greens were perfect..a little fast. First tee time out and didn't have anyone behind us until the back 9. Will definitely be back.

After taking care of their greens, this course has been really the top choice for me given its value - very reasonable price but very challenging setup especially for the 1st 9 holes!

I play this course frequently. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Course layout is long for those of us who can’t drive the ball longer then 250 yards. It has a few bunker drainage issues and some bare spots in the fairway on a few holes. Compared to the other public tracks in the area this one would be in top 5. First 9 is tight tree lined layout while the back 9 is a bit more open. The range is a good warm up range but not one to work on your tee shots on. The new owner is in the process of renovating the resort. Hopefully cart path and bunker drains are on the list for improvement on the course. It is a great test and a fun test. Just wish public would fix their divots and ball marks.

From 1 to 10-bad to good.. 1 has no business here 5 has to work hard to get around 90. 10 will be near par with a little challenge. Lots of trees need to be avoided or bring your own chainsaw.. A good course for fun and disappointment.

I love this course and the whole layout, I played from the blue and it was a great course every hole was fun and challenging it would of been way to easy for me to play from the whites. The staff here are very friendly and so are the other golfers I moved out here from California and so far this is course is on my top 10 and I’ve played at thousands of courses will definitely be back was well worth the 1 hour drive

Roughs too long know drinking water on course.Greens in good condition.Course to hard for everyday player.

The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Definitely coming back. I would recommend this course to anyone.
