Good Course
I didn't play well , just didn't know lay out of the course.
Unable to play, but...
We were unable to play due to the weather. The Houston area was getting a lot of rain July 4th so at 11:30 I called the course to see if they planned to be open in the afternoon. John from the pro shop told me that based on the rain and forecast the course would probably close but I could call back in a couple hours to be sure.
Then, for the first time ever in the 45 years I have played golf, I received a call from the course at 1:30 to let me know they were indeed going to close for the rest of the day.
Just the consideration he showed in calling me tells me everything I need to know about this course and their management.
I’ve played the course before so I know it’s a great course, I’ve interacted with some of the staff so I knew how great they were, but to take the time to call a customer like that just goes above and beyond.
Thank you very much, I’ll see you this afternoon (have a 3pm tee time for today also).
Always fun
I have no negative comments. T boxes, fairways, greens(a little slow but everywhere is right now)
Staff was great.
Nice Course!
Third time out, I just really enjoy playing this course! It’s subtly difficult in a very inviting way! Looking forward to the round
Very Fun Course, Worth the Drive
The course was in very good shape. About an hour north of Houston, but is well worth the drive. Course is secluded in the La Torretta Resort right next to Lake Conroe. Will be back to play again soon!
La Torreta/Ol' Del Lago
Great course layout with challenging holes for the scratch golfer from the back tees! Pro was awesome and friendly, bar waitress very friendly, and locker rooms were nice! Greens were starting to get into nice shape after punching and sanding. Overall great value for your money! Also, this is the site for the boys and girls 5A Regional Golf tournament! You will not be disappointed!!
Great layout and condition
I played this course with my wife and her father on Memorial day morning and it was fantastic. Great layouts despite the lack of hills. The entire course was in great shape. All the staff and other golfers were in good moods and very nice. If you are in the area I think it is a great value for the $50 green fee we each paid.
Outstanding!
The layout is challenging, with tight fairways, greens protected by bunkers, and some water. Greens rolled true, and were in great condition...very impressed with this course, and with the hot deal from GolfNow a great value! Highly recommend...staff was great as well. Let me go off solo, played 18 in 2 1/2 hours. Will be back soon!
Need a marshall
The course is in great condition. Unfortunately no one is on the course to keep players moving. The threesome in front of us had no etiquette, period. From driving on the par 3's to the loud music from their cart. We (a twosome) caught them on the first par 3. They each hit several tee shots on each hole and spent several minutes driving around looking for the balls in the woods. It was a shame too, because otherwise it would have been a great outing.
Greens in terrible condition
The course is great to play until you get to the green. Passionate golfers beware: these poor green conditions will ruin your round.
Nice layout
The course was nice but the greens need work. Very slow and rough.
Challenging course
Although this course is a resort course, it is quite challenging and I’m a 6 handicapper. We played from White tees (6500 yds) and it has 6 Par 4s over 400 yds.The course has Tree lined fairways requiring fairly accurate drives as well as fast and well guarded greens make this course worth playing.
Great place tight fairways
Fun round not busy at all. Loved the location and would like to come back and stay at the hotel sometime, looks really nice. Fairways were a little rough but it is early season. Hole are tight tree lined so ya better hit em straight which I struggle with sometimes!
