Landa Park Municipal Golf Course

Love Landa Park Golf Course. The course was in great shape. Greens rolled pretty true. They were, as you could expect, fairly firm. Given it's a municipal course and it was a weekend, pace of play was still pretty decent. It's not the longest course, but it compensates with making you manage the course, not just bomb it into submission.

I'd heard some good things about Landa Park and took the opportunity on Presidents Day to drive down and give it a look.

The place was busy! Clearly a popular place. In addition to bordering Schiltterbahn it winds around the crystal clear Comal River. I was surprised to see they overseeded the fairways, something fewer and fewer courses do in Texas.

I was most impressed with the green surrounds. It made for an interesting day. I'll bet they are even better in the summer when they can be mown a little tighter and faster.

The layout was expanded to 18 holes after originally being nine, and the result is some weirdness in the routing in a couple spots getting across the road, and a par 3 bordered by powerlines isn't ideal.

As an Austinite, I wouldn't drive down here just to play golf and drive back but I would make a day out of it: golf in the morning, tubing in the pm and Gruene Hall and Gristmill in the evening. That'd be an epic Texas day.

The course is in very good condition including fairways and greens. Sand traps could use a little maintenance however all in good shape. Pace of play needs to be improved, some foursomes seem to be oblivious of other players waiting and waiting. Marshals need to be aware off this. This is my only complaint.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! The course is in great shape, had a great day playing but any day I’m playing golf is a great day!

The course was in great shape including fairways and greens. Sand traps could be a little better maintained. We were behind a five some who never offered for us to play through As we were in a group of three. We waited on every tee. There was no one ahead off them.This is issue that should be addressed. Other than that I would recommend the course.

The course conditions, greens and fairways were very good for winter golf. Very enjoyable experience.

the course was in excellent condition for it being February. fairways were very green as well as the greens for February conditions. the course layout makes you play other than driver for 2nd shot placements on several holes. narrow fairways challenge your driving accuracy. green surrounded by water and the spring fed river is a sight to see. enjoyed 18.

The overall quality of the course is pretty good. The staff does a good job in maintaining it. The greens are really fast.

I will play again and often

What a gem! I had heard good things about Landa and it did not let me down. The redesign a few years ago hit it spot on. Beautiful property. Way to take a small piece of land and make the most of it! Walkable, but there will be some longer walks between a few of the holes due to the road and between parts of the property. Greens were excellent! Fast and some extreme slopes. Have fun. Bunkers were superb. The green fairways and tees looked amazing contrasted against the golden color. Not long, but long enough to give some strategy to the design. Really used every inch of the property. Could use a few more signs at intersections for first time visitors, but the ones they have are excellent. Will be back. Pleasant surprise find!

Terrific course, only one I've been to that you can warm up on their hitting cages. Fun, excellent course conditions, layout was challenging!

Beautiful fun course with lots of wildlife to see. Nice green tee, fairways and greens for this time of year.

Landa is a top 10 golf coarse in the greater San Antonio area. The greens are rolling to perfection and the overall coarse is manicured and kept up as you would expect from a top 10. The staff are courteous and non-stop at work to make sure a player gets everything they pay for. Great coarse and highly recommend always.

The course is excellent but they need to space the groups more they are trying too push through to many groups.
