About
Originally opened in 1938 as a nine-hole course, Landa Park Golf Course has since expanded by 52 acres in 1969 to make it an 18-hole course. Although it is on the shorter side, the golf course is still entertaining for golfers of all skill levels. Bordering the Comal River, there are some water hazards coming into play on the course. The fairways are wide and there are not many difficult approach shots, making it a more player-friendly golf course. Landa Park Golf Course features small, undulating greens and there are mature trees lining the fairways. Although it is fairly forgiving, Landa Park does have some challenges, including the lengthy par-5 fourth hole that stretches over 550 yards.

Slow but really fun
We were behind a five some and it was a bit slow but the course is in great shape. Greens are putting true and most fairways produce good lies.
Fun track
Over seeded fairways provide nice lies on every hole.
Fun layout w lots of risk reward choices . Greens are. nice and consistent speed. Lots of wildlife too!!
No marshal so can play slow when busy.

Municipal Gem
Love Landa Park Golf Course. The course was in great shape. Greens rolled pretty true. They were, as you could expect, fairly firm. Given it's a municipal course and it was a weekend, pace of play was still pretty decent. It's not the longest course, but it compensates with making you manage the course, not just bomb it into submission.

Nice surprise!
I'd heard some good things about Landa Park and took the opportunity on Presidents Day to drive down and give it a look.
The place was busy! Clearly a popular place. In addition to bordering Schiltterbahn it winds around the crystal clear Comal River. I was surprised to see they overseeded the fairways, something fewer and fewer courses do in Texas.
I was most impressed with the green surrounds. It made for an interesting day. I'll bet they are even better in the summer when they can be mown a little tighter and faster.
The layout was expanded to 18 holes after originally being nine, and the result is some weirdness in the routing in a couple spots getting across the road, and a par 3 bordered by powerlines isn't ideal.
As an Austinite, I wouldn't drive down here just to play golf and drive back but I would make a day out of it: golf in the morning, tubing in the pm and Gruene Hall and Gristmill in the evening. That'd be an epic Texas day.

The course is in very good condition including fairways and greens. Sand traps could use a little maintenance however all in good shape. Pace of play needs to be improved, some foursomes seem to be oblivious of other players waiting and waiting. Marshals need to be aware off this. This is my only complaint.

The course was in great shape including fairways and greens. Sand traps could be a little better maintained. We were behind a five some who never offered for us to play through As we were in a group of three. We waited on every tee. There was no one ahead off them.This is issue that should be addressed. Other than that I would recommend the course.

great value
the course was in excellent condition for it being February. fairways were very green as well as the greens for February conditions. the course layout makes you play other than driver for 2nd shot placements on several holes. narrow fairways challenge your driving accuracy. green surrounded by water and the spring fed river is a sight to see. enjoyed 18.
