Course maintenance

There was no course maintenance, not sure if it was just when we played but the fairways weren’t cut, covered in long grass, daisies everywhere! Couldn’t actually enjoy golf as you spent most of the time trying to find your ball amongst the grass and daisies! Only ended up paying €15 on the day but even that was too much!

And to make it worse, tramore old course is all around Newtown, so while you’re trying to play in shocking conditions you’re looking at perfectly manicured fairways and greens running parallel to the crap that you’re on! Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone, hopefully we just picked an off day but after driving an hour to play their I was highly disappointed

The course is unloved and it shows

When we arrived to check in for our round the person in the shop explained how they had had poor conditions over the winter but it was playing better now, firstly that should have raised suspicions, secondly I'd hate to see how bad it was in winter.

As we walked to the first tee we passed by the Old Course looking immaculate with the fresh morning dew being cleared by the greenkeeper. We arrived on a worn out 1st tee that you'd hope had seen some better days.

The condition of the course was poor for the remainder of the holes with seagulls and crows tearing up the greens and noone batting an eye at them. No visible fairway, the "fairway" was about 4-5 inches long full off weeds and clover and the rough was knee height, multiple tee boxes we covered in animals waste.

The pace of play was very good mainly because during our time there there was our two ball and two other singles. Meanwhile the beautifully manicured Old course was packed.

Hard not to feel hard done by with a €25 euro green fee when my local course offers far superior conditions for a cheaper price.

Would not recommend to a friend, or foe, but would go back to play the Old Course as it looks delightful.

It is a pity because with a bit of care it could be a lovely 9 hole course

Newtown

Charged €20 by golf now, if you ring and book it’s only €15, course not in great condition, fairways grass is longish with plenty daisies, greens aren’t wicked bad, can get a decent roll on the ball, not bad instead of driving range if you want to hit off the grass.

Very bad for the price

First time playing and I was told by locals not to play it but I did anyways because I’m a beginner. The holes themselves are actually laid out nice but the greens were very bad.

Fairways were just about acceptable. My local course costs less than this and is in pristine condition but this isn’t cared for at all and costs 25€.

Also when I got to the third green a 4 ball started on the fourth hole and I was waiting for them the whole way though not being allowed play through.

If you’re just looking to get out alone it’s fine but even for this price I can’t say I’d recommend. It should be 15€ and that would be more acceptable.

Great, quiet course for beginners.

Great, quiet course for beginners. The green fee cost of €25 is excessive for 9 holes on a golf course that required some extra maintenance in my opinion.

Completely fake review.

Course was in horrendous condition 6 days previously. Augusta wouldn't be able to turn it around in that time. No possibility it was in even mediocre condition when this review was wrote

100% a fake review!

I played this course a week earlier and it was in horrendous condition no possible way they thought this a week later. Convenient three positive reviews one day after another by very suspect usernames...

Horrendous course

Greens were a disgrace shouldn't be charging people until the course is fit for purpose. Tee boxes also shockingly bad. One of the worse course I have played in many a year

Horrendous course

Shocking course one of the worst I have played.

Greens were an absolute disgrace, tee boxes also.

Shouldn't be open until the course is properly maintained.

Excellent 9 hole course. Despite recent weather, the course was reasonably dry. Fairways & greens were in v.good condition.

Nice 9 hole course

This is a nice course to play , it is second to the main course and it shows on the condition of the course sometimes , the main course gets all the TLC , but overall this is a good course with some challenging holes

Beautiful Course

Tramore golf course is both a challenging and perfectly landscaped course. Only played the Newtown 9, however looking at the Main 18 hole course it looks unbelievable. Facilities are fantastic, huge practice area, staff are very friendly, would highly recommend it.
