A Hidden Gem
Loggers Trail doesn't get as much publicity or play as some of the other courses in the area , but it should because it is a challenging but very fair course. The front nine has more difficult holes than the back. Through Golf Now, the rate I had yesterday was fantastic. Regular rates are higher than some of the other local courses, which is a slight barrier. There is a lot of "no mow" areas which leads to some lost balls if you're errant. The fairways are generally very wide and in good condition.
Nice track!
Great shape, challenging while fair. Enjoyable day!
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for the nice comments
Two problems
I've played this course for years and there are a couple problems they should address but haven't since I can remember. For some reason they have sprinklers on throughout the day and they also have some weird idea of how to cut cups. They have three cups cut at once and do a terrible job covering the two they are not using. But it's a nice course. A little pricey but if they corrected these problems I would play here a lot more.
Thank you for taking the time to review the course. At the time you played we were extremely dry which was the reason for both problems. Come out here now and you won't see a sprinkler on, and won't even know where the other cups are. Thank you for the feedback though we looked into both issues.
great layout
everything was great except the threesome behind us hitting into us three different times
Thanks for the review. Next time call the pro shop and we can help you out.
Nice course
Very playable. Nice mix of open holes and tree lined holes. Lots of undulating greens, but the greens are in excellent shape.
Looking forward to playing again.
5 hours was a little slow for my liking.
Thank you for the feedback. We hate slow play, so while it happens occasionally we continue to have starters & rangers working on it, thank you for taking the time to review our course.
Easy to hit most of the fairways
The fairways and greens are a bit dry but overall are in good condition. Will play this course again.
Thank you for the review.
Great Value!
I have played LT a number of times but not for a couple years. The course was in very good shape, the greens were true and consistent. The staff was very friendly, from check-in to on-course refreshment and post-round. I will be adding LT to my "play more often" list.
That is what we like to hear! Thank you for the kind words
Awesome round
My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try this course for awhile. The weather wasn't looking the best for the tee time. I called and the staff member that answered and gave me his thoughts on how the weather would be. We ended up going and the weather (as he said) turned out good. We will definitely be going back. We had a really nice round. Course was very nice. Just want to comment on a few other reviews I read. People not impressed with the ( double wide trailer) clubhouse. If you want a country club than maybe golfnow is not for you. Will for sure recommend this course to others and we will be back.. Thank you for the much enjoyed round.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Nice Course
Nice course with significant challenges. Keep it in the short stuff or it's gone... Never found one ball I hit towards a mound, and lost several in the rough itself. Oh - and beware of the treeline down the right side on 4. If you push one in there - consider it dead.. even if you can see it, just let it go. The barb wire they have hidden in the brush will give you a nasty reminder you are OB.... or so says the 6 inch gash on my right shin.
Sorry to hear about your leg. I did some investigating, and that barb wire is the property line and not something we can remove. It's quite a ways in there though, so hopefully no one else runs into the same issue.
Loggers Trail
Have always loved this course but I think it is a little over priced and they need to upgrade the clubhouse at least a little.
Thanks for the feedback. Trust us no one wants a new clubhouse more than we do. Thanks for coming out, don't forget to get your FREE Frequent Player Card to save a little money each time you play.
GOLD BALLS
So lets start this with saying..I walked in the "Double Wide" trailer they call a clubhouse. Ordered up 2 beers and 2 buckets of balls. The kid behind the counter says "That'll be 30BUCKS.. I paid and went to get my balls out of their shotty 1984 ball machine. Dropped in the tokens and YUP here comes some dirty, no dimple balls right into the buckets. SWEET just want I wanted to hit with my new woods some junky, not washed dirty balls. I went to the range which has got to be the worst range in the TRI state area with like 3 sticks out there, no yardages, a Island Green like they think they are the TPC SawGrass.... The suns in your eyes if you go there in the evenings so don't waste your time because you can't see anything your hitting at. They also have some putting and chipping greens next to it that are big enough for 3 kids to play on. They bumped up the rates on everything this year so maybe they can remodel the double wide?? The course is boring, every hole looks the same. Is this supposed to be a golf course or cow pasture? Not sure yet, still wrapping my mind on it. There are far to many nice courses in the metro area you can play that blows this place away. I suggest going somewhere you can get you hard earned moneys worth. This isn't it.
Seriously they need to find a way to move that sun! I have only golfed this course several times but this review is not a balanced one.
Mr. Big Butts - Thank you for your business and review. Based on a few of your comments it's apparent you didn't have a good time out here. Hopefully you have a better time next time out.
I'd be happy to discuss this further with you, feel free to give me a call at 651-497-0230 anytime or email me at tmatsche@loggerstrail.com.
Hopefully your new woods are treating you well. Have a great day Mr. Big Butts.
Best Deal in the Twin Cities
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Friendly staff, great range with an island green to dial in your irons before the round, and great mixture of holes with the front having trees in play and back is links style. Greens roll true and have never had a bad time at Loggers.
Thank you for the kind words, you made us blush.
Course good but dry
Course in good shape. greens are fast but true. the ground is hard and dry this time of year. Had a great day with nice weather
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate your feedback, and glad we could provide nice weather for you.
Great value when under $30
Got a deal online and played in the afternoon. Usual greens fees $50, is too much but $20 with cart made it a no brainer. Quirky and tight in places. But generally an okay daily fee track. Don't make it a destination but if you're in the area and can get a deal worth try. Warning - The previous round I played there the round took 5 hours 15 minutes AND I had a box of balls stolen out of my cart while in the club house at the turn.
Thanks for playing, and your feedback. We appreciate it.
Always a good time at Loggers
Loggers is consistently a good solid course...nice conditions and solid staff year 'round. Would suggest that if you're even a moderately decent golfer, play from the blues...took a buddy along who never played the course so, we played from the white tees...too short for a 12 handicapper.
Thanks for playing, and the kind words.
Great links style course
Course in great shape, staff very friendly. Would recommend this course to friends.
Thank you for the kind words.
Good challenge / good deals available
Course was in good shape, challenging and reasonable thru GolfNow.
Average course
The course greens were trimmed and sanded making them unplayable.
Very average course. Nice area but they need to put money into this course.
Thanks for playing the course. We top dressed the greens, and do this every few weeks along with verti-cutting them. This makes it so that we don't have to aerate in the fall. thanks again for playing we appreciate your feedback.
Very slow pace of play
I play this course couple times a year, they where have a shotgun start at 4:30pm, course didn't move, 2:45 mins to the turn. Called the club house they said they were having 2 foursomes trying to play together, they split them up and came back and they were playing together again, we had 5 groups stacked up in a 2 hole stretch , rather then asking them to leave they let them keep playing and stopping everybody behind them, I asked for s rain check do to the very slow play he said ok, went in and since I booked online he could not give me one and said I have to call golf now? It's not golf now fault they the course was letting people slow play to a 7hr round. Poor costumer service, very unhappy and a waste of a sat evening!!!!
Best Stillwater course
I just moved to area and have played Loggers about 5 times now. The course is laid out well and there are plenty of driver holes from the blue tees if you are a longer player. The clubhouse doesn't do the course justice, but I've heard rumors of that being upgraded. My only minor complaint is pace of play in the beginning of round. Seems to consistently be a back up on hole 2 thru 4 and even after that a few times. Other then that fun course and has pretty good rates if you play later in the afternoon.
Thank you for playing. We think they are more than just rumors, but nothing is concrete as far as the clubhouse goes yet. We are hoping to begin construction later this year or early in 2016.
Thank you for the nice review. We appreciate you playing out here, and glad you liked it. Glad you got a great rate too.
