About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Fun course. It greens not great
Not sure if they are still struggling due to the frost but the greens had weeds in them. Ball didn’t roll true and on a couple tee boxes seemed like the grass was all weeds. Decent price though and wasn’t crowded. Love the layout though.
Hidden Gem
Ridgeview Ranch is a hidden gem of a golf course. This course is laid out perfectly and challenges the best of players. The staff is friendly and make the experience enjoyable. This course is a must play.
Proshop staff was awful
Terrible customer service. When I asked about beverage service the gentleman in the proshop flat out lied to me which was confirmed by another staff member. I’ll never be back.
Slowwwww
Course was in good overall shape and fairly well maintained. Big issue for us was pace. We had to wait 20 minutes past our tee time on the first hole, then the rest of the round took about 4.5 hours, making for about a 5 hour round. At 8 am, it wouldn’t be a surprise, but with a 3:30 pm tee time, that’s a bit brutal.
100 degrees outside - 90 degrees inside
No carts upon arrival so had to ruck clubs up in the heat and wait around for a cart. Thought I would wait inside but it was just as hot inside.
Fairways had hazards in the middle and the cart girl hovered around 1, 2, 10 and 18.
Fun course
The course was fun to play, pretty forgiving. The greens were in rough shape, the top tracer range was pretty rad and the practice area was pretty good. I will play here again and I would recommend it

First timer
Played here with my son and his friend - both great golfers. Course and staff were great. My one knock would be no cart service until the 16th hole. it was extremely hot and I needed something to drink. I would happily play again. The pace was slow but we finished in 4:45 minutes on a Sunday. Sundays always play slow.

Overpriced for course conditions
First time playing this course and it wasn’t anything to write home about. I will say the staff is friendly, helpful, and provide great service. Many of the greens were overrun with weeds and the sand traps were poorly maintained. I’m sure this course once was a well maintained course, but that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer.

I'm a Fan...
Right off the bat I'm just a Fan of this course. It just fits my eye the way a really good golf course should. Lots of undulations, strategic bunkers, interesting angles, fun pin placements, and holes with a good risk/reward balance...decent facilities and the staff is SUPER friendly...
The downside is the recent rains (and previous freeze) have really left the bunkers wet, hard, and ig chunks of sand missing, and the greens, while overseeded, are bumby with lots of weeds in them. It's actually in worse shape than when I played it 2 months ago...
But yeah, I STILL love playing this course, every shot feels interesting/challenging and that's really saying something in the DFW area where everything is pretty darn flat (and uninspiring)...

Need to improve green and sand bunker
Most of the fairways are in decent condition except the 18th hole. All greens are covered with weeds. The sand bunkers are actually bunkers with dried clay. Still playable. The price seems too high for the quality of the course.

Nice layout
Staff was very friendly and the course is a nice layout. Fairways were in ok shape but the greens were in sad shape. Tufts of different grass all over the greens. Green conditions don’t match the cost of a round

Fun course
I saw reviews complaining about the greens and they did have some weeds and spots that were rough, but lots of courses had issues after the freeze. Open fairways which are nice.

Expected Better
Bunkers were dry with no sand. Greens had weeds on them. Overall was not happy with the course.

Course & greens were in great shape. Cart girl was pleasant. Had to wait for 2-some in front of us inly a few holes.
