Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

The course was under repair for the some of the green.
This course generally good. I expect repair work will be finish soon.
Good Day
Course conditions good, greens still work in progress, excellent pace.

Conditions are a little rough right now
The layout of this course is a lot of fun, but conditions (especially the greens) are not good currently.
I would suggest waiting a month or so to see if the greens improve
Greens are in BAD shape
They had to have just been punched, which would have been nice to know before spending $70 for the round. The greens were impossible to make a putt due to the sand and bumbs all over them. The range was also closed because of rain. Overall, the course is a good layout, but make sure the greens are in better shape before you play.

RIDGEVIEW RANCH
The greens are in terrible shape and most of the tee boxes are too. However the fairways are in good shape.
Sad story
Course has deteriorated over that’s 18 months. Greens are probably worst in a ten mile radius. Bummers have never been in great shape. Needs a lot of TLC. Shame it was a nice layout and staff is great.
We love hearing about our golfers' experiences, memartin369. Please tell us more about what you enjoyed during your round. Thanks for choosing Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club!
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club.
Green is terrible and fairway needs some attention
I played here about a month ago and came back hoping that the green condition has been improved. It's sandy, bumpy, and lacks care. Some parts of the fairway need quite an attention as well. It used to be a fun course and many people liked it. Hopefully, they can manage the course a bit better.
Greens Are Not In Playing Shape
The greens are not worth paying the green fees for a standard weekend day. There were way too many bald spots and non-growth. Sub-$50 would have been acceptable. The rest of the course was in relatively good condition. With all the rain you would think the greens were better.

Horrible greens
The greens were half dead and full of
Poa-annua. They’ve recently been punched and haven’t recovered. Not nearly worth the $64
Bad condition
Played this course several times in the past. My previous round (1 & 1/2 months ago) they punched the greens and pro shop never mentioned it to me. Today’s round the greens were horrible- like they never recovered. Recent weather required carts to stay on path and group behind us stated we might as well drive on the course because there were no marshals and “they obviously don’t care about the course - just look at the greens.” Observed several bare spots all over the course. Expected better
Bad greens
Second time playing course in month and a half. First round the greens were just punched and clubhouse said nothing about it. Played yesterday and greens were still in horrible shape. Not one green had a smooth surface. We had to stay on cart path during round but twosome behind us stated we might as well drive on course as you can tell they don’t care about the greens.
Greens?
Greens are in very poor condition and may take many months to repair. It's a shame because this course has a great layout and normally fun to play. I would take this course off your list until maybe Fall of 2021.
We're thankful for your positive review! Be sure to book your next tee time at Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club soon.
Poor greens
I have played this course a number of times and like to layout. Greens in worst shape I've seen. Could not recommend this course to anyone at this time.
Thank you for taking the time to review us! Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club thanks you!
