About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Phenomenal Muni
Course and green conditions are exceptional. The greens were on the longer end of a cut but still lovely and rolled true. Fairways were clean and free of weeds and very well manicured. This is a great course that smartly accommodates everyone.
Much better conditions than previous visit.
The course was in extremely poor shape that last time I visited. I tried it again after hearing about course condition improvement. It was actually better than I expected. Would play it again. Only con is that pace of play was painful on the back nine. Had to wait long periods on every tee shot.
Nice Day
I was behind a group that said they were in a tournament. After the first hole I played, they were at least 1 hole behind the group in front of them. They played extremely slow, took many extra practice putts and took forever to get off the greens.
The course is in desperate need for a Marshall on the course to ensure the pace of play is enjoyable by all golfers.
Course Conditions are Improving
Great job to the groundskeeper for improving the course conditions and greens. A year ago, it was not good, but the course conditions are getting better! Nice work!
New cart, best staff!!!
I've used this course several times, and my only complaint has always been the old golf carts with bad brakes. When I visited recently, I noticed all the carts had been replaced with new ones, and their condition was excellent. Last Sunday, while I was playing with my daughter and husband, I realized I had left my S-club somewhere on the front nine. After the 9th hole, I told a staff member at the counter and finished the back nine. When I got to the clubhouse after our round, a staff member was waiting for me with my club. Thank you to the player and the staff member who found my club.
Great hot deal!
This course was fantastic. The fairways were a little dry which helped with distance.
Really enjoyed the lay out. Pace was a little slow on the back 9 with a foursome and a 5-some in front of me.
Absolute steal of a deal with the hot deals…
Finally, The New Carts Have Arrived
I have played Ridgeview Ranch golf course many times over the past several years. The biggest knack against this club has always been that the golf carts were really terrible. Well, the new golf carts are in, they’ve aerated their greens and they are coming back, and the fairways looked fantastic. Had a great time playing today and it was a very enjoyable round with a very good pace of play.
The best thing about Ridgeview Ranch is the staff. Andrew in the pro shop is always friendly and always helpful and always has a smile. A very welcoming place to play and a reasonably good value for the money.

Fairways, greens and tee boxes are excellent. Better than they have been in quite some time. Carts are barely adequate. Changed out two carts during round.
NO WATER on course for DRINKING. Saw the beverage cart twice. Cart staff was friendly. Staff inside were civil. No ball washers.
