Rating 71.5

The golf course at the Arrowhead Golf Club has been declared the top public course in Denver in the past by Golf Digest, as well as one of the top 75 public courses in the nation. The towering red sandstone rock formations are a trademark of the course, providing a unique and beautiful atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the abundant wildlife that have made the course their home. The rolling terrain provides elevation changes and undulation to the greens. Water hazards and bunkers also come into play on the course. Arrowhead Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole. It is a steep, downhill hole with scenic views.

One of the most scenic courses in CO

It's hard to compete with the scenery that Arrowhead has to offer. One challenge this year is less than ideal drainage of the course. The greens are great however there are some notable bunkering and a few fairways that are affected. This why I rated the conditions as average, (great greens, poor bunker maintenance). Clubhouse staff do a great job as they should for a course of this $$$. Fun course that may be slightly easy for the more advanced golfer but a great course to show off if you have guests. From a value standpoint, it all depends on how much you put on views. You need play it at least once however there are much better values to be had.

Gorgeous

Love the course and the views. Lots of wildlife. Actually had a fox climb into the golf cart while I was hitting my ball. A little too expensive to play often.

Too hot

It was challenging, beautiful scenery, but don't play in summer or when it is over 90 degrees and after a rain. Not enough water stations and no food carts on the back nine, with the heat being 96 degrees, they should of had someone going around, and at least two bottles per person, with the cart. After paying $129, you would have expected that. Also three holes had major water issues, with really lots of difficulty in the grass areas, we sunk 3-4 inches, we should have been warned by the starter, muddied our shoes and socks. The guys that cleaned our clubs were great. In the restaurant, the serve staff were bickering, with each other, and complained that a group next to us did not push in their chairs when they left, come on now,, isn't that their job. Guess thinking about it other then the scenery won't play it next year when visiting, we were really looking to play it but won't. The food was ok, tuna salad good, bbq pork ok.

Great to show off

One of the most scenic courses you may ever play. Course was in better shape than I have ever remembered, and they hive kicked it up a notch with the staff (multiple bag boys and help around the course and clubhouse). Great place to take someone for brownie points

Jurassic World Colorado

Deer on the range, coyotes, and just beautiful scenery that came right out of a Colorado tourist guide. Had a challenging round of golf as the course was wet and played its full length. No hazard as threatening as a hundred foot tall rock wall, loved it!

could be a gem.

This course is apparently under new management. I hope they restore it to what it could be. Wonderful layout. Memorable holes. Just not in great shape.

Nice but not sure it's worth the $$$

Overall I enjoyed the course. I'll start with the staff who across the board were friendly and accommodating. The setting is very nice with the red rocks. Most pictures of the course make it seem that it is very remote but the course is surrounded by houses which are always in view.

From a design standpoint I would say the course uses the land well. The holes are fairly isolated from one another although they do cross back and forth. A few too many uphill holes for my liking, several of which are severe. The Par 3 13th is stunning but for the most part, none of the other holes really stand out.

The course had received an enormous amount of rain prior to our play and was clearly saturated with balls plugging in the fairway. Given how the course played, I would expect it to be in excellent condition during normal circumstances.

$145 was a lot for this course but perhaps the going rate for similar courses in the area. I wouldn't play it again at that price.

Have your camera ready

I arrived early at the course and was allowed to tee off early on the back 9. I had the course to myself and couldn't believe all of the breathtaking views I encountered. Because there was no one behind me, I took a picture on 5 out of the 9 holes. As I made the turn to the front side I quickly caught up with a two-some and joined them. We did run into some inclement weather with 3 holes left, but were able to get the round in. The greens were a little slow, but rolled very true. The staff were courteous and helpful. The course is challenging at times, but always beautiful. Look out for a discounted tee time online. I was able to get a 60% discount on the normal rate.

Beautiful course

First time playing the course and loved the course and the views. Open fairways but still challenging. It is worth the extra money to play at least once. We did have to wait on every hole which caused our round to be 5 hours and 15 minutes, other than that, loved the course and will play again if I can get a discount.

Waiting for years to play and regret not playing earlier

Great course in excellent condition, amazing views of amazing natural rock formations, the only disappointment is that they sent didn't mention the plugging and sanding of the greens and believe it should have been discounted or disclosed while making the tee time or before checking into the pro shop.

Scenery

The course had great scenic views. The greens were aerated two days before I played. Putts were hard to make as expected. It was a cold day in the forties and windy. Considering these conditions needless to say my scoring was not too good. Would like to play the course when things are greener and the weather warmer.

A TERRIFIC ALTERNATIVE TO THE OFFICE!

AS I LOOKED OVER MY E-MAILS ON THE EVENING OF DECEMBER 10TH, I NOTICED A GOLF NOW MESSAGE THAT LISTED A TEE TIME OF 9:12AM ON THE 11TH FOR 1-4 PLAYERS. I CALLED SEVERAL FRIENDS AND BOOKED THE TIME FOR 2 PLAYERS @$37.50 EACH! ARROWHEAD FOR $37.50 EA. AS IT TURNED OUT THE MORNING WAS CHILLY AND BLUSTERY, BUT THE COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. BY THE 9TH HOLE THE WIND CALMED AND THE TEMP ROSE TO MAKE IT A SPECTACULAR DAY OF GOLF. IT ALSO HELPED THAT BOTH OF US PLAYED DECENTLY. THANK YOU STAFF FOR A MEMORABLE ROUND OF GOLF!

Wind

The course is in great shape but don't tee off before 10:00. It was like playing in a tornado. The wind was pretty steady at 20-30 mph. Painful. We tee'd off at 7:30 and the wind was going till 10:00. The back 9 was great. The people are really nice.

Arrowhead Golf Club

The course was in excellent shape and very playable. What impressed us even more was the staff and how friendly they were. Every single staff member that we came into contact with was asking about our round and making sure our experience was up to expectations. I would recommend this course to anyone.
