Super great condition , great staff. Just people need to fix their divots.

We scheduled two tee times for 8 golfers. We arrived and were missing one guy who couldnt make it. We are tee’ing off on #1 and the starter comes up in his cart and makes a single join are party. Which is fine but he doesn’t allow him to have his own cart and forces him to join the single cart player and unfortunately the single didn’t speak english. Talk about awkwardness the entire round. Never going back.

Range ball machine out of balls. A painfully slow 5-hr round. So backed up that we teed off 15 min after our scheduled tee time. No marshal moving slow players. Greens covered with ball marks, as if no one fixed their marks for a couple of days. Bunkers continue to have no sand and remain unplayable. Limbs from tree trimming remain in place in the rough areas - they were cut 2-3 months ago. In less one year, this venue has continually declined . The big question is why?! Late last year I was contemplating becoming a member - that would have been a big mistake.

Unfortunately I was reminded of some of the aspects of golf that are hurting the growth of the game. The staff was generally unfriendly and made me pay an additional $20 cart fee just because someone was riding with me and not playing. They had so many groups jam packed out there, so pace of play was terrible. This was on a Wednesday afternoon so good luck on your weekend rounds. A lot of courses deal with these issues, but usually they will try to be accommodating, Falconhead was pretty shameless about it. All they cared about was they had our money and just threw us all out there to deal with it. No marshal or cart person came by once all day. As avid golfers this is stuff we just deal with because we love the game, but this is the stuff that keeps newer golfers from coming back. Falconhead is in a rich neighborhood and has country club vibes so they wont be hurt by this, but it's the small local courses already struggling that end up hurt the most. I'm gonna stick to playing my local muni's and public course this summer who still deal some issues, but at least I know I'll feel welcome.

The course conditions are getting worse, not better, over the last several months. The bunkers remain unplayable. The greens were the in the poorest condition I’ve seen them over the last year. It took 5 1/4 hours to play a round yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, albeit it was cart path only … no Marshall’s patrolling to move along the painfully slow play. It has been 4 1/2 hours or more to play, the last three times I’ve been there, regardless of the day of the week - that is too long! In its current state, the price of a round is way overpriced. Overall, very disappointing. I’m hopeful they can get things back to the top shelf conditions they once had.

Tee boxes and traps were terrible. We never saw one rake in any traps. Some tees had more dirt than grass. Even the tees on the par 4s and 5s were awful. I had not played here in 8 yrs and do not remember it being in that sort of condition. The starter even told me the was in great shape. I don't think so. We never saw one marshall on the course the whole time although the pace of play was acceptable. We were going to play the gold tees except .....there were no gold tee markers on any hole and no mention of that beforehand. Absurd. We had to hit off uphill mats on the range on top of getting hosed on the cost of range balls. Just throw in a small in a small bucket with the green fee and call it a day. The brakes on the carts were very poor as well. No GPS on the carts which would help speed things up. No covers on the back of the cart for when it rains. The pin flags have no reflectors on them so it's very difficult to shoot the yardage with your range finder. Overall very disappointing.

We only made 12 holes before a thunderstorm rolled in and ended our round early but very much enjoyed the 12 we completed.

The course itself is in OK shape lots of dead trees still laying around for balls to get stuck in front of the freeze this past winter. Overall the layout is very good could easily be one of the top courses in Austin if it was managed more effectively. Other than collecting money and getting people off the first tee it seems like the staff pays no attention to pace of play or what’s happening on the course and it’s common to see quite unruly groups playing 5 1/2 to 6+ hour rounds and not a Marshall in sight. Unless you can get one of the first three or four teetimes in the morning don’t bother it’ll be six hours of frustration.

Rudd staff especially the grumpy starter and they take ZERO Covid precautions. Pace was terrible. The grounds crew must be out of their minds. They were literally soaking the greens in front of us on every hole on the front 9. Problem is, the greens were already completely saturated from all the rain this week. They were leaving huge puddles of water on the greens. Not even shutting the sprinklers off during our approach shots, they would wait until we were steps away from the green before shutting them off. Total waste of money... can’t believe this is in the same network as Avery Ranch.

Course is in good shape.

Greens are running around 9.

Good condition considering the amount of rain lately.

Played on a Wednesday. Course was long due to storms and wet . Greens were slow but fair. Liked the layout and the setting. Pretty course

1. Tee times are every 5 minutes - Pace of play is unbearably slow.

2. No Covid Protocols - Starter had a bandana (not a mask) around his neck greeting everyone who came to the course. Then he tried to have me get in cart with another single. When I said I wasn't comfortable with that, I was quoted about 'the Governor said....' In the shop I was told I could pay to have a single in a cart....another $65 (2 rounds of golf). Got my money back.

3. Staff - Rude to the point of questioning if they actually want people to golf there.

Thoroughly disappointed and I won't be going back.
