About
Falconhead Golf Club sits just west of Austin in the midst of the scenic Hill Country, tumbling across a rolling landscape covered with knobby cedars and towering oaks. The challenging layout was designed to PGA standards, making it one of the most popular public golf courses in the area. The greens are fast and each is protected by at least one bunker. The golf course offers an interesting variety of holes that will require the use of every club in your bag. On windy days, the lengthy par 4s are especially tricky. Golfers will be faced with a variety of challenges on this course including dramatic uphill approaches, forced carries, blind shots, and doglegs. There are also meandering creeks that crisscross the course and a number of ponds that come into play. Falconhead Golf Club's signature hole is the beautiful par-3 17th, which will require your most accurate iron.

Falconhead Review
Course is still under diress since Polar Vortex in mid-Feb. Practice range was a little disappointing with worn mats stacked so closely together. Practice area for chipping & putting were both nicely maintained. Course itself was in satisfactory shape - lot of bear lies, poor tee boxes and inconsistent greens. Again, I attribute this to the weather in February. Staff was very friendly.

First time playing here and will def be back... finally decided to splurge a little bit and was worth every penny. I started golf last year and def a bogey / double bogey player. Managed to leave with one par, even for someone of my skill level it was def forgiving and playable for all skill levels...fairways were amazing and green all around. Got paired up with 3 older guys and we had a ball. 5 stars great time, go you won’t regret it!

Great experience.
We tees off early and completed our round in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The greens were in fantastic shape, as were the traps and most of the tee boxes. We filled a number of fairway divots that others had overlooked. The snack bar wasn’t open when teed off, but opened by the time we made the turn. Excellent breakfast tacos.

Course was in immaculate condition
I’ve played here a lot in the last 13 years and the course conditions are as good as ever. Pace of play could’ve been better, our round took almost 5 hours and we saw Marshall once. But besides that it was a wonderful day and great round of golf.

It’s worth driving further to another course.
Ok, I don’t really ever leave reviews, but felt like I need to in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation. We came in from out of town to play some courses and this one came up on most lists. We got there quite early and went to hit balls to warm up. $9 to hit a small bucket off a mat that we waited 15 minutes to hit off an old mat with no tee. I grew up on local, farm-ish courses, but they realized this and charged appropriately. Besides the marshal there was nothing, but entitled snobbery everywhere and for what? A burned out, super packed course that took 5 hours to play? I’m good.

Fantastic course
Was visiting Ausrin and took advantage of booking a tee time at Falconhead. The course looked great from tee to green. My only complaints are the speed of the greens was slow and the mats at the practice range are way to close. The kid to my right hitting driver had a wide swing and nearly hit me on both his backswing and follow through.

Good value for price
Visiting Austin area. Got out early on my own.....done in 2.5 hours. Love that. Had the place to myself. No delays. Course in decent shape with very firm fairways but greens in good shape overall. Enjoy the layout and flow.

Greens like a trampoline
The greens are very bouncy. None of my group could land a full shot on the green without it bouncing over the back. Course layout is good.
