Slow but steady

We were stuck behind the world's slowest fourball who kept driving back down the fairway to play provisionals when they couldn't find their balls. The rough's long and makes finding your ball difficult if you stray and the deer have right of way so you can get some tricky lies, but it's a nice course, well maintained and provides plenty of scoring opportunities for better players.

Enjoyable round if a bit samey

Despite groups teeing off one after another we had no issues with the pace of play as a two ball - finished and sat with a beer three and a half hours after first drives.

Course was in great condition, especially the greens. The surroundings of the palace, deer and the park add to an enjoyable round. Overall the course is pretty forgiving.

One criticism is there isn't much variety in the holes. No water hazards, long carries, undulations.

Dreadful

One of the worst courses I've ever played. Bad greens, scabby fairways. Pace of play is a joke. Nearly 6 hours for a round. It's not exactly as if it's a nice course worth the wait. It's basic and not very well looked after.

Beautiful course

very very nice course with beautiful views on every hole. quite a challenging course with big undulating greens which were a bit sandy. Lots of deer lining the fairways and greens. all in all a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf.

Terrible

This is the worst course I have ever played at. The play was slow and staff didn't seem to care. We turned up and had to wait 20 minutes to tee off even though we had booked a tee time. Behind us were a dad and two children. They were wearing jeans and trainers but were told that was OK by staff. They had rented clubs and obviously had never played golf before. After almost being hit twice by them and having a word eventually my friend was hit on the leg. At this point we decided it wasn't worth carrying on as it was to dangerous. When going back to the club house and explaining the person working said the course is understaffed. We asked for our money back but he could only give us another round of golf. This is useless as I won't be playing there again if only for safety reasons.

Nice tees and excellent greens

Nice course tapered fairways with some interesting rough

Great place really enjoyed it

Bit slow though with a three ball and two ball ahead who were obviously tighter watching each other's shots

Could have let us through but chose not to

It did not spoil our game though great place
