Challenging
Not the longest course but some challenging and varied holes that are enjoyable. beautiful scenery around the lakes. A course where ball position is critcial and its not just about being a long hitter. Rolling countryside mean a fair amount of height changes around the course.
Worth Playing
A good challenging course after the 6 th hole. Very good layout and requires really good course management.
The professional was disappointing, hardly welcoming, friendly or informative. Members around the course were excellent, courteous and friendly.
Food and drink at the hotel was very expensive and not good value.
Great value for money
This golf course has a great selection of holes. It’s not until the 8th hole the difficulty level starts to ramp up so be on your game by then because the run of holes from 11 through to the end can play quite difficult if you’re not playing the ball into the right areas. We thought the overall condition of the course was ok but the greens were deceptively slow for this time of year and looked a bit tired and patchy in places which is understandable given the heatwave this year. The staff in the pro shop and bar were helpful and friendly. Looking forward to coming back.
Excellent condition
Considering the heat wave this summer - the course was in excellent condition
Well worth a visit
A course with a view
Credit to the groundsman even with this exceptional summer the greens were excellent, hence good scores were maintained.
Probably recommend a buggy.
Also I think the layout has changed, worth checking .
the rain came - finally!
A nice round om a course suffering from lack of water except on the greens. The greens were a little long for protection and to avoid drying out. I like most of the holes especially 6,7,9, 10 and all from 11 home! Lovely views from 14 and a challenging hole to boot!
We will return once the green of the fairways returns - but we had a very quiet and enjoyable afternoon - and a good price too- thank you!
..Great scenic course
Great value Golf, worth considering a Buggy and don't forget repellent.
Had a break after 9 holes in the panoramic restaurant before completing the course.
Ideal for all handicaps.
Course is fabulous but Tees & bunkers were disappointing, have seen better sand on a building site compared to that in the bunker
Wonderful course , very challenging and beautiful surroundings. Would recommend it to anyone for a good round of golf. Will definitely be back !!!
Hellidon
Clearly the course is being overbooked with us being slotted in between a medal and a society and this with a 7.20 am tee time. Obviously not a wise choice for a Saturday morning.
TeeTimes do need to establish an accurate tee time and course confirmation where more than 18 holes.
A Nice Course in a Lovely Setting
Played as a two ball on a quiet afternoon. The first impressions of this course are of a well maintained facility with some impressive signature holes.
Despite the recent abysmal weather the fairways were generally dry and free of mud and the greens were in great condition, although a little slower than might have been expected.
Only a couple of temporary tees and no temporary greens - not bad for this time of year and after all the rain.
In summary, a very nice course and with sufficient challenge for most golfers.
bit boggy due to the recent bad weather , very hilly course but very nice, would like to play again in the summer.
2nd visit
A nice course though you will need winter wheels very soon as parts are getting very slippery. Prefer the main 18 holes to the back nine with the other nine holes. The bar is ok but dead as members have a separate bar so not many use it, waited a long time for someone to serve but dealt with us well. Will play again for the course.
Great challenge
Tough hilly and very interesting holes. Need to be fit if you are walking round
Lovely course
Some of the holes are very testing a slight miss hit is punished with the ball rolling down the hill
The greens are fast and have some tricky slopes
The course is in excellent condition Lovely tee boxes and carpet greens
Challenging
Overall challenging course with quick undulating greens . You know you have walked this course but for £12 via Tee off times I think it's great value. We didn't use the bar afterwards so cannot comment on its off course hospitality. Pro shop staff were very helpful.
