Golf course was very accommodating as the only issue we had was they had not received the booking from golf now but got us in anyway.
I won't be using golf now again.
Great setup and really enjoyed the course challenge.
Annoyed only by GolfNow…who charged the full summer rate instead of the winter rates
Leaves make it unplayable in Autumn
Sadly, there seem to be no effort to manage the leaves issue at the course with fairways covered extensively and perfectly good shots resulting in lost balls. Not expensive but just not fun diving down the middle and not seeing the fruits of your success. Constantly having to give free drops to co players on the fairway to keep the round moving with ball searches taking so much time.
Family 3 ball
Came to play as a family. Different HC levels 11 to 25
Great course for mid- high HC. Well kept and mainly level course. Lower handicap golfers may find it less of a.challenge.
Friendly staff and nice clubhouse. Driving range close to first tee and good value. Would certainly play this course again.
Great course
Definitely go again really nice course loved it great layout for all levels of player. Super day out we both travelled an hour and a half to get there. WELL Worth it
Great round of Golf
This is the 2nd time I have played this course 4 months after the 1st round. The course is well sign posted and easy to find with a very large car park. The staff at signing in were very friendly and helpful, plenty of space for a pre round coffee. There was a driving range and practice putting area which I didn't use. The course itself presents a good challenge without being ridiculous. Some well placed bunkers to make you think along with some undulating fairways. Great service with being able to ring the bar at the 9th T and order bacon sarnies to pick up when moving from 9th to 10th. Holes 11 to 18 are across the road which is like playing a different course. Finally the 19th hole is well staffed and good selection of drinks. ....All in all a very enjoyable 2nd round of golf on this course and definitely value for money. If I lived nearby I would play here more often. Footnote, handicap of my group were 24 to 28.
Frosty round
Cold round of golf, ground was frozen so hard to get the Tee's in the ground. Made for an interesting round. Had to change my normal round and adapt to the frozen ground ball bouncing all over the place some times higher than a house. but really enjoyed it non the less.
Value for money
Well enjoyed game of golf, friendly staff.
Turned up early and allowed to tee off early by proshop.
Course we'll looked after for what you pay, greens a bit lumpy in places from the worms but couldn't be helped.
Really quiet and not rushed in the slightest.
Little Gem
A lovely parkland course tucked away off the beaten track. The staff member in the pro's shop was really helpful. We arrived later than our intended booking, due to congestion in London, on a warm summers evening. The course was busy, but he still managed to accommodate the 3 of us by getting us out on the back 9. At £20 each, playing 9 holes was still great value.
The course was in good condition, with plenty of technical holes. Club selection and ball position for the 2nd shot more of a consideration, than just hitting it long. A few blind shots, so playing with a member the first time would help.
Excellent hole description boards on each tee, plenty of golf ball washes and rubbish bins.
Could maybe do with some "To the next Tee >" signs for the benefit of guests.
Due to finishing late in the evening we didn't get a chance to use the off course facilities. There's a covered driving range and the clubhouse with terrace looks nice.
Given the opportunity, all 3 of us will play there again.
Not a great day
I called the course in the morning and booked a tee time for a single golfer in a buggy with my dad caddying for me, great. We arrived to find it was very busy with 5+ groups of 4 balls in front of us. If the person who took my call had thought about my request maybe a warning would have been offered to say it was going to be very slow, a single golfer in a buggy isn’t the best idea unless you have time.
The course itself isn’t in very good nick, fairways like rough greens like fairways. Definitely not worth the money.
We eventually got through 9 holes and though no this is horrendous so went back into the shop to see if we could do the other 9 holes with the buggy on another day that’s not so busy. I was told no I booked for 18 so I must pay for 18. I explained the situation but fell to deaf ears.
All in all, overpriced, unkept and unfriendly place! Won’t be coming back.
Well set out course
Front and back nines completely different. Front 9 quite long and back nine more picturesque and sloping.
Very friendly staff
Would be great if clubhouse was open
Good Course
We found that the course overall was in a good condition, greens were cut shorter than earlier in the spring and played very consistently. Only thing that we would gripe about is the condition of the fairways, they could do with a cut , but that may be because the course is still operating with a skeleton staff numbers due to covid and the recent wet weather.
Great course
Nice day out, local for me but had a good game of golf with friends. Course in good condition and food was lovely.
Will be back as Arnie once said!
1st time on the course and was greeted by thick fog on 1st hole.Fortunately I drove down middle.
Fog cleared after 2 holes and we then discovered a great course. Most holes were of a good distance and gave you an opportunity of par which is nice.
Signs need to be better to guide you of next hole and also guidance of course lay out.
Front and back nine are so different which is good.
We paid £20 which gave us 18 holes plus £5 behind bar which was good value.
Loved cherwell edge and will be back!
Excellent course with some interesting holes. Course in good condition for the time of year.
Good friendly staff and an enjoyable day.
Great value for money and would recommend to others
Well conditioned and enjoyable track
Overall the course was in excellent condition with the greens running true although could be a little faster but only a minor gripe. It represents great value and certainly one of the better courses in the Banbury region.
The front and back nine are opposites with the front nine playing as a typical parkland layout, however, as you cross the road to the lengthy par 3 11th the course takes on a more undulating terrain with emphasis on club selection and accuracy off the tee which features shorter holes than the front but makes for an enjoyable course to test your game.
