Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel - Green Course

We first played here in January this year and have just been back in October.

It’s a nice course in good condition considering that’s it’s quite hilly and all the rain this year. It’s tricky in places with a couple of holes hitting over water.

Clubhouse is small/Medium but has all the essentials.

Main building has a nice bar / restaurant with good views over the 18th hole, We had food and drinks which was great.

Well worth a visit if you’re local we drove 30 minutes to get here.

Bar closed due to COVID, which we knew so can’t rate amenities

Greens were full of moss so not great.

Staff excellent Not a target course., greens in good shape for this time of year. You need to read the greens. BUGGY COUNTRY

Four colleagues from work went for a 9 hole round. Lived near this course for 17 years yet somehow never played - will definitely be back!

I decided to try a different course than my usuals, purely because it was a bargain price and I'd rather play a course than hit 100 balls on the driving range when the weather was this good - 25º and blue skies @ 08.00.

I was the first out before the groups. Gary in the pro shop was very helpful. I play off 28 but this short, challenging course suited my game.

I played the Hellidon Lakes course, not the Valley although the Valley looked stunning as well. if you like your golf challenging with good exercise, this is the course for you. Favours long irons rather than drivers in my opinion and you should score well - just don't look at all the water ;-)

Not often you can play a course of this quality with an early tee time for this money.
