A little bit of effort would go a long way
The course is a nice little layout, not the up, down, up, down you get at some courses. Shame the greens weren't in top condition, the fairways rock solid and missing grass and the bunkers have well-established grass growing in them. Doubt I'll return as for the price I paid there are better courses around. Guess that explains why non-members can get a Saturday morning Tee time.
Interesting course with variety of holes
I have played here many times and always enjoy the challenge. The bunkers were poor with weeds in growing in them we decided to treat them all as GUR, the fairways were showing sings of drought conditions very bare and patchy again we decided to play preference lies. Most of the greens were good and receptive but some had brown patchy areas. We have always considered removing the ponds on 18 a mistake. A bridge across to the 17 green would help play also (an expensive luxury to add and maintain though).
Lingfield golf club
A very enjoyable round. It was the first time we had played here, and we will be back. As on all courses its quite difficult when you do not know the course. It has 4 short holes with what I would call 14 long holes. So if walking is a struggle for you I would advise using a buggy.
Lovely Lingfield
Perfect course.
Bushes etc a bit overgrown
Covid-19
Buggy rip off: but i suppose that's due to covid-19 not allowed 2 in a buggy
LP 28/07
Bunkers should have been advised as GUR as they had sand but also had allowed grass and weeds to grow in them - played them as preferred lies
Tee block on 9th was unplayable, as perched on a severe slope, but had to play off it
Greens were well prepared and true
Fairways are starting to need attention/watering with ruts appearing
Tough little course
Tough course where you need to be accurate off the tee. Lots of holes where it pays not to take driver off the tee. Shame the fairways are very patchy on some holes. Greens were ok although a bit slow. Still overall ok for the money.
Lovely Lingfield
The last time I played here it was a bit snobby but glad to say no problems today. A few ground problems but nothing serious. Trees encroaching a bit but that makes it a tad more challenging. What with CV19 had to use seperate buggies, a bit pricier but golfnow deal for £20 each I couldn't complain. Golf marshall excellent.
Hidden Gem
I've played here a couple of times in recent weeks and its a bit of a gem, narrow tee shots and woodland holes leave lots of hazards.
Pace of play has been very good the whole way round. Dont think you'll find many places better for monetary value!
Course is in good shape the odd fairway are a bit bare but after some rain should be good.
An enjoyable round on a course that was relatively fast moving and the majority of greens in good condition despite the dry weather. Only disappointment is the condition of the bunkers with the sand variable and often with grass appearing. Lack of facilities purely down to Covid restrictions.
Worth a visit
I have played twice and it is an enjoyable well laid out course with only two weak holes, 1 & 17. Bunkers were not in play and starting to sprout grass which was the only reason I marked it down. When back under full maintenance we will return for sure
Enjoyable Course
Found the course challenging but enjoyable. As a solid 28 handicapper, lost a few balls off the tee. Greens were medium to fast. Would play here again.
Poor fairway conditions
Good facilities and some great holes fairways and bunkers in poor conditions but overall a very enjoyable course
Needs some TLC
My god , I have played this a few times in the past, but this was the worst i have ever seen it. i even lost a ball on the fairway the grass was so long!. Greens had not been treated and grass was growing in many bunkers. I am really surprised that this has been let go like this...
The bar was shut at 5 o'clock on a Saturday, said it all really...
Monday afternoon golf
Really enjoyable round. Greens were looking superb and the whole day was great. Difficult, challenging course compared to many but very enjoyable
greens need water desperately
the coarse appear to be a bit un loved with un raked bunkers and greens that need watering as they where turning brown.
the greens where reasonably fast, some tees need a bit of tlc, generally a good test of golf, but not up to mariot standards.
Very Average
I played so many better public courses, greens were good but fairways and tee boxes are shocking! Definitely not worth £45 a round. Will not be returning
disappointing
played Lingfield park yesterday, the bunkers are awful , the greens are very bumpy , it would seem that repairing pitch marks is not the done thing here . The whole course just seemed to be crying out for a lot of tlc , it is a shame because the course is a good test of golf , other problems were the upstairs bar shut at approx 17.30 but nobody informed of this . so a few very unhappy people. sadly this is probably the last time that I will play Lingfield again, and I will not be recommending to anyone
day out golfing
The staff were great + course was in good nick
long par-4 + 5 great dog leg holes.
your are right next to Lingfield race course and a race was on after golf this was great to watch.
The club house was great and changing room
and shower was very clean + towels
I will play again in later in the year
