First time
Not an very experienced golfer, but found some fairways and greens in need of some TLC compared to others played this Spring. Perhaps not yet recovered from long summer last year? Spiked greens not sanded and heavily dosed with some kind of treatment not watered in so ball and hands covered after putting.
Nice course
Been at magnolia a few times now and it's really growing on me now.Every hole is different.Short pars 3 to long ones and same with the par 4s and 5s.Greens were in good condition but tee boxes were not the best but workable. Was busy today so was a slow 4 hour round but that was expected as I had quite a few groups infront.
Used to be a great track
Practice facilities were awful probably the worst we have ever seen. Basically rubbish practice balls in an unkept field.
Fairways a mix of mud and moss.
Moss in every fairway and most greens.
Bunkers in terrible condition.
Generally scruffy and unkept and pointless trying to putt on greens that were like a rice pudding.
Only paid £13 so what did we expect?
Shame as was once a great golf course and sadly looks like on it’s way out.
We won’t be back even if it was free to play simply not a great experience
Disappointing and frustrating
My main issue is that why was i allowed to book a 12.48 tee when the golf club knew they had a society of 24 with a final tee off at 1pm. We eventually teed off at 1.15pm and 5 hours later in the fading light managed to finish our round.
Needless to say it didn't make for an enjoyable round of golf.
Nice course
Nice course very well maintained no two holes the same good challenge.
Enjoyable course
Challenging for high handicapper at first but definitely worth the perseverance . Greens are quick and the tee boxes tidy. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Great deals to be had , ticks all the boxes .
Slow uneven greens
Course played well after the hot summer we’re having but the greens were uneven and slow. Shame as they have always been some of the best challenges in the county.
considering the recent weather the course was in as good condition as possible.
the bunkers were filled with terrible sand which in the wet weather were more like playing out of clay pits
Maloney
Course was in good condition & all greens on.This is a good course to play in a frost as greens stay on.The roll was good, hot deal used so great value for money.Definately visit again.

Enjoyed the course. Good to have distinct border between fairway and trouble. Greens were in excellent condition but tees were the opposite. Poor.
Decent track but needs some TLC
The course itself could be very good. It’s a decent length with some excellent holes. The Par 3 2nd, Par 4 15th and the Par 5 8th stand out. However, the tee areas were abysmal, the greens bone dry and did not hold the ball and the course a bit messy. If the course was properly irrigated, properly maintained then actually the course could be one of the best in the area and even rival Oxfordshire.
Magnolia
Teed off at 130pm Sunday nobody directly up ahead in front of us, 2 players going down 2nd fairway. We were a 2 ball playing steady until we reached 7th green players in front we're now on 8th tee. From the 8th tee we held up on every hole tee off second shot and on every green. Players in front of us were held up by a 4 ball with no consideration for those behind!
Slow play spoilt otherwise what would have been an enjoyable day out.
First time visitor
Played in dry windy conditions. The course has an above average number of par 5s so would suit those who drive the ball well. Played on Good Friday it wasnt very busy so good value for money on a public holiday . A fourball went off in front of us ( we were a two ball) and soon let us through so the pace of play was good .
Dud Tees
Whilst it was very pleasant playing the virtually deserted course until the rain came down heavily on the 14th. The state of the course was disappointing, whilst the greens were on the whole in good condition the tees were a disgrace and don't appear to have had much work done on them, Full of moss, churned up in places and well below the standard one would have expected form a course of this stature. The fairways were also in poor condition. I recognise the weather has not helped recently but would have expected better.
When, we arrived we were greeted in the clubhouse with a smile but even as we were getting our clubs out of our car the pro walked by us saying he was off to the range but had left a couple of cards at the hotel reception. This was not satisfactory as we would have liked to purchase a couplem of items from the shop, such as an additional wet weather glove.
However, the barman on completion of our round was helpful, welcoming and made the fact that we were both pretty soaked much more bearable.
too many golfers crammed on to course
round was very slow and we eventually gave up after 15 holes.
talked to a member whose round took 5 hours that day.
playing partner badly sprained his ankle in a "hidden" fairway sprinkler head
Great course
Lovely course very long
Greens weren't great but they have been treated recently but previous rounds they have been excellent
Very challenging the beginner will struggle
