Sammons
We love playing this course, it's a great meeting place between family members. You can find good prices on GolfNow. We played for $20 bucks each today. Today the greens had a lot of divots people have not fixed, we have not had that in the past but it was pretty bad today.
Veterans Day at Sammons
Course is just ok, the greens probably need to be rolled out and cut one last time before winter weather sets in. Some of the tee boxes are extremely dry as well, another good watering couldn't hurt, plus they are pretty chewed up. Was an ok day to play.
Solid course for the money
Good layout some easy holes but because of water some vey challenging ones
Crazy Course layout
If you live in Temple Texas then its nice to have a municipal golf course to play. With that being said I would not recommend anyone outside the area to waste any time to travel there to play. Course had a strange layout and is not sign posted to know where the next hole is. While the greens were decent the fairways were in rough shape as was the rough.
Cannot comment on the bar and food facilities as COVID certainly has caused restrictions so was not able to sample anything.
Trash everywhere
This course was very confusing to navigate there was no ball washers or trash cans anywhere every tee box was un level or tore up and there were cigarette butts on most of the greens I wouldn’t pay $30 to play this again
It's been awhile since we last played at this golf course. What used to be the front nine is now the back nine and the back nine is now the front nine. Not saying that is a bad thing. This is definitely a good golf course. We will go more often.

The course is in great shape ! The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional! We really love the staff members and all their help!
Sometimes there are large groups that really slow the pace a lot and to many groups of 5 & 6 but we always manage to work around it. The fairways and greens are looking great and a good time to go play!
Fantastic Greens - Annoying Carts
Sammons is in great shape. The greens are almost perfect: fast, smooth. The greens would be if they had a bit more undulations, but they are in fantastic shape. The course layout is interesting. Some short par 4 holes, but each of them is lined with hazard - good risk/reward. The par 3 holes are challenging with water carry on two of them. The par 5 holes are fairly straightforward.
Around a year ago they installed new golf cart software with an electronic fence system. This is the most annoying aspect of playing this course. If you get off track the cart slows down to a crawl and BEEP-BEEP constantly. You have NO idea most of the time where BEEP-BEEP...the fence is, then you are hoping to get back to safety so you do not have to push! There are no signs when the hole is cart path only BEEP-BEEP. Rarely do you see a sign BEEP-BEEP...for keeping carts away from BEEP-BEEP...the green. You get the annoying factor. GO.PLAY.NEWAY
