Dehydration Station
The Golf Course was in the best condition I have ever seen. They have done a nice job in fixing up the course.
Having said that, it was very disappointing to see that there was no WATER to be had on the Golf Course. Additionally, the Beverage Cart was nowhere to be found. It was a very brutal situation to be out there in the Heat of July, with no hydration opportunities of any kind. I came close to leaving the course, as it was unbearable to be out there without so much as a drink of water. This is very dangerous, and I think that having water for the Golfers is the least that a municipal course can do for its patrons.
Hot Day, but Good Day for Golf
Joined a group of 3 guys who love the game. Great company and a good pace of play. Most greens were in very good shape, especially in the weather. Course hit was some serious tree damage; sad to see some huge trees uprooted after recent storms. Staff very friendly. Great rate as well.
Nice little course.
Lot of residual damage from storms that went thru. Amazing they’re open. Course is nice, and very busy. We’re stacked on 1st tee. Very slow pace of play behind four regulars. But nice enough to tkreally enjoy. Rather forgiving course.
Layout
Layout , challenging with minimal signage and direction difficult location the blues whites and black tee locations. We played some from the blurs soe from the whites
Sammons a fun playing course
First time golfing. The course was in decent shape a few T boxes were beat up pretty bad and several greens had dry spots and one or two were bumpy but overall the course was green and in relatively good shape. We had no holdup from first T on. The course layout can be a bit confusing for first timers but the carts have GPS and off you follow the map on the screen you should be fine. A free extra arrow signs with hole numbers would still be a help. Fun shorter course to play and reasonable. We’ll be back. Thanks for a nice afternoon of golf.
Rough conditions
This course not worth 40 bucks. Greens were in horrible shape! Not returning!
Great Course
The course is very challenging, but several wide fairways make up for some of the water hazards. The staff is professional and accommodating. Some additional signage at the many path intersections would be helpful.
Good Times
Had a great time with my son, but we got behind a very slow group of golfers that extended our playtime beyond four hours. Understandably the course needs some extensive cleanup after the storm.
A course for your whole bag
This is not your standard golf course. It has lots of challenges and demands accuracy. You must navigate each hole precisely and be patient for those scoring opportunities. Conditions are great even though hole 14 was closed due to maintenance. We will be back!
Excellent Golf - Dictator Carts
This is a GREAT muni-course. The greens and fairways are in excellent shape. The layout is nice and challenging. The only complaint I have is the carts with course gate software. How many times did my cart beep and stop telling me I was off the course when I was...you guessed it - driving on the cart path.
This happens 4-5 times per round. Also, you leave the cart path and rather than sounding an alarm that gives you 20 seconds to turn around - that would be nice. But instead it beeps and your cart stops. This gateway software needs improvement OR the guys in the pro shop need to make some edits. This is highly annoying.
Crowded and swampy
To be avoided. Quit after nine holes. Paid for a tee time but still had to wait in line for 30 minutes to tee off. Poor conditions -- standing water everywhere, very little grass. Carts refused to operate -- said we were in restricted areas when we were on the cart path. Insanely crowded. Bad layout where you have to drive through active fairways.
Post rain
Always enjoy playing here. After all the rains it is in very good shape. Some odd tee box locations due to the wet conditions, but that golf. Staff are great. A shout out to the kitchen staff. My Canadian friend who had never sampled a corn dog before. Welcome to Texas buddy. Get out and play! It an interesting course and worth the drive. Fore!
First Time
This was my first time visiting this course. The cart I was given kept malfunctioning and we spent the first 30 minutes trying to get back to the clubhouse. The girl put our second cart on staff mode to eliminate the problem and it worked. We only played 5 holes due to the weather and no staff were available for me to ask for a rain check. The course was nice and I enjoyed playing what I could.
Mowing
I’ve always enjoyed playing at this golf course for its well-designed layout and the challenge it presents. However, I was concerned to see lawnmowers being used on the fairways while they were still flooded. This has led to dead spots on the fairway, which can be frustrating and affect the quality of play. I hope the course management will address this issue to maintain the course’s excellent standards.
Pace of play
I’ve played this course multiple times over the last 2 months. The pace of play has been an issue every time I’ve been at this course. There isn’t a marshal to enforce pace of play or to make people play in groups. During this round, I had to start on hole 10, slow pace of play, about 2.5 hours to play 9 holes. Got to hole number 1 after the turn and there was about 6 carts waiting to tee off. They began letting people start their round on hole one, leading to even slower play. I left after 9 holes because I didn’t want to wait for 3 other groups to t begin their round and then be behind them. Asked for clarification in the pro shop and I was told that they must be starting the scramble tournament.
