Sammons Golf Course

Clubhouse attendant was extremely rude and the one saving grace were the nice golf carts but we waited 30 minutes for our tee time because the pace of play was so bad and the marshall was just there watching it happen definitely dont recommend this course we came out here for a birthday celebration and its was not enjoyable to say the least.

Great course lots of water, couple reachable par 5’s

This was my first time playing Sammons. Decided to try it for something different. The course layout is like following a drunken cow but thankfully I played with someone who knew their way around. Card has blue tees but none found on the course so had to play whiltes to accommodate other players. Be careful with their cart GPS in certain areas. Actually on the cart path going to certain holes and then the cart just stops and says you're in restricted area. Nothing like kissing the dash unexpectedly while following the path. Same goes for speed. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were less defined but rough was manageable. Lots of water into play and marsh areas you can't see. It was blowing 10-20 mph that day so water was an issue. Some fairways are really narrow next to water. Cart paths are spotty and lots of washed out areas made for rough trucking. No scorecards available at #1 or from starter, guess they were in proshop. Driving range available but in fair shape, unlevel ground. Large practice putting area which was nice. Pace of play was awful. Had to finally pass a group of young kids on the back nine who had no course etiquette. No marshals. I highly doubt I'd go back even at the nice deal from GolfNow. But, just you typical muni course but I've played way better muni courses.

I enjoy playing here once a year. This was a quick pleasant experience on a hot day. Under 3 hour golf. Course was in great shape.

why pay 90 to 120 when you got Sammons with great greens and conditions. EXCELLENT value for the money!

No water on course and no cart girl.

Very confusing layout. First time playing and was a single. Drove around alot looking for.next hole.

Played behind a group with 6 as a single so waiting 10 minutes a hole

Course was in okay condition but that’s about all I can say. Staff was not helpful and groundskeepers got in the way of play constantly. The layout is terrible and hard to navigate. The worst part are the carts. They are setup to lockup if you get out of non restricted areas but locked up 5 times while on the cart path and had to call the clubhouse for them to unlock it. Several other times in locked up in fairways but would unlock if you reversed for a while. The pace of play was atrocious, had way too many golfers on the course. Literally the longest round of my life by a wide margin, over 6 hours! Will not be back

Amazed they were even open after storms ripped out a huge swath of biiiiiig trees. Super nice staff, but slowest 18 I’ve played this year. Marshals don’t do anything, as our threesome, (w/ two foursomes behind us) waited roughly 10-15 minutes on every tee box. There weee four old timers (no doubt locals) holding everyone up and nothing was done to allow play thru.
