About
Joe Finger laid the Bayou out in the 1970s. The links-style course he carved out of the 200 acres along Moses Bayou has plenty of water and elevated tees and greens. The Galveston Bay winds affect this open course, so the 6,665-yard, par 72 plays significantly longer. Every par 5 is over 500 yards, and four of the par 4s are over 400 yards.
On the front, the long par 4 No. 6 is tough because the approach must carry the bayou to a tiny green. And No. 10 involves a lake off the tee and on the approach.
The back is what really tears into the soul of a golfer, though, presenting a 580-yard double dogleg on No. 15 followed just a short while later by the ridiculous 475-yard par 4 17th. This hole is lined on the left by old Moses, and water hazards creep into the fairway. The inevitably long approach goes into an elevated green guarded by water.
Getting there : From Hwy. 146 south, turn right on Loop 197, and head over to Ted Dudley Dr. Turn right, and the course is on the right side of the street.

Golfer Reviews
Great hamburgers, but that's all!
Course was in terrible shape. Bare spots everywhere in fairways and on greens.
Can’t beat this course for the money. Great practice facilities, friendly staff. There are a couple fairways that need some love due to the bayou flooding, greens in great shape. Just a fun course to play with friends.

Bayou golf course
Course was nice but ver confusing. No signs to where each hole was or even how to get to the first hole and took me and my girlfriend to figure it out

Home Course
Greens are always excellent and fast. Course is taken care of well, bot high time tends to wash over about 4 fairways at times.
Best bang for the buck, by far!
Thanks so much for the great review, Nehice. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing Bayou Golf Course.
Nice course layout
Nice course but the rain damaged some of the fairways. Really nice course when it’s dry.

The first few holes had very narrow fairways because of water poodles. There is need to improve drainage and several areas of fairways need to be regrassed. Sand in bunkers need to be replaced..Hole 9 was the most terrible. The back nine holes were better. The greens were well maintained. The restrooms on the course were awful.

Nice Day
Course was in good shape for the time of year. Some fairways are bare from the tides. Not much you can do about that if you want to play Bayou! I play there often and just expect it. Some holes (like hole 6) the area across the water is literally unplayable. Something needs to be done on that hole. Number 1 and 3 have serious tidal issues and the fairways need to be raised.
Hello, GoGolf719. Thank you for visiting us at Bayou Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Cart path & fairways
The Course needs some major upgrades. The cart paths were in terrible condition actually tearing up the golf carts and the fairways are almost bare. Really needs attention.
