Waxahachie Golf Club

About
The Waxahachie Golf Club plays to a par 70, 6,156 yards from the tips, and is famous for its blind doglegs and hilly terrain. The design incorporates a good combination of golf holes, both long and short par 4s, and especially the solid par 5s that all play over 500 yards from the tips. The opening hole is one of the easiest–a short par 3 that is one of the better ways to start a round. But the next hole is the number one handicap, a 513-yard par 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Business 287 exit and turn left. Drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

WOW!! I am AMAZED!!,
I can’t figure out why they think they can grow green turf on nothing but clay!, who EVER is in charge of taking care of the greens and fairways …..COULD NOT TAKE CARE OF MY YARD!!!! WOW
Excellent course for beginners. Might have been the wrong time of year but the fairways were pretty patchy and dry and the greens were VERY beat up making it feel like I was putting in a bunker as there were patches of sand on said greens but not all of them and for the money its worth another visit.
Very fun golf course…. But needs a little attention.
It has a very beginner friendly layout with some pretty wide open fairways. The greens were very fuzzy almost like a carpet or soft turf BUT it was honestly a totally different change of pace with putting. I Would definitely play again and appreciated the older gentleman working the pro shop.
Could use work
You get what you pay for. For the $17 a person you won't find an 18-hole course you can play that includes cart. The greens need an overhaul, the fairways are either hard pan or like rough, but you can go out there and play. The course had the front 9 closed, so we had to play the back nine twice, which makes for a long round on a weekend with multiple tee times now meeting at the start/turn. Fine for taking people out learning the game, just know you are going for the company not the course. Staff was friendly, food and beer were well priced.
This course needs work
This course is in rough shape, only offered the back 9 due to poor conditions on the front. Well the back 9 only had 3 greens that could even be considered greens the rest were un puttable. Don't waste your money.
This course would make a good dog park
The only good thing about this course is how honest the staff is about how bad the course is. Green were terrible and they’ve taken an “it’s all rough approach” to fairways. Most people have better manicured lawns than this place. No hitting range if you’re thinking you’ll show up early to warm up. Golf club was in bad shape too all around avoid this place unless you’re a local.
Bad conditions but good value.
Midweek tee time of $11 you can’t go wrong even if the conditions of the course are sub par. Great practice!
Price is in alignment with expectations
The staff was friendly.
the course itself leaves a lot to be desired. The fairways are mostly hard dirt and dead grass.
The greens are uneven and 40% dirt.
It’s a good course to teach a friend golf, but not one I’d recommend for anyone looking for a quality round.
Save your Money
Worst greens I have ever played on in my life. Crab grass central and unkept. Traffic jam where hole 8 meets 18 and caused one group to get lost off course and really slowed play. No one answered my calls when I was calling ahead. No one returned my call.
Worst course I’ve ever played.
Staff was polite and pleasant in person.
