Waxahachie Golf Club

About
The Waxahachie Golf Club plays to a par 70, 6,156 yards from the tips, and is famous for its blind doglegs and hilly terrain. The design incorporates a good combination of golf holes, both long and short par 4s, and especially the solid par 5s that all play over 500 yards from the tips. The opening hole is one of the easiest–a short par 3 that is one of the better ways to start a round. But the next hole is the number one handicap, a 513-yard par 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Business 287 exit and turn left. Drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Challenging venue
The course layout is excellent. Unfortunately, it was cart path only. There are water hazards and bunkers that require good course management. You can use every club in your bag and will need extra balls if you get to aggressive.
Decent Course
They just re did the greens. Pretty well kept. Will definitely be playing again
Nice course for intermediate or high handicap
Course is in good shape overall. Did have a few poor spots in greens. Appears course is getting put into good shape. Course is a fair place to play. However if you like top end courses I can’t recommend it. But if you like a fun round for cheap in a decent course go for it. I will be back.
Enjoyed
I’m a novice and haven’t played a lot of different courses, but this course seemed to be much better than other reviews. Great value course and I actually think the greens were pretty nice, especially on the back 9.
Needs a lot of work
This course needs tons of work. Greens are in bad shape, fairways are like pastures. Most Greens have rye grass, bare spots and multiple divots. Wouldn't be terrible if some time and money was out into it.
Only Worth it for hot deals
Paid $20 on a hot deal to play here and that seems about right for its condition. Sand on lots of greens. Had to move my ball almost every hole to be on some grass. Good for beginners or someone knocking the rust off, not for any golfer who wants to keep score or challenge themselves.
The reviews are true.
It is a crime they charge people to play, they should be paying people to play there. There is no grass on the fairway and greens are horrific. The group in front was giving lessons and didn’t let me pass through. Spent 15 minutes on the tee box & I packed up after 3 holes. The reviews are true on how bad this course is. Truly one of the worst courses in DFW.
Good spot to have fun.
I came on a saturday and had a great experience. All the bad reviews made me hesitate booking this course but for 20 bucks after 5 you cant beat it. The greens had a few sand spots but mostly all were is good condition. And having the lake close by when your playing just sets the feel.
Lots of shots over water hazards wich is fun for me. And also some very long flat holes. Ill be back soon.
Seen its better days
No grass in fairways and many of the greens have damage
Fast pace, good layout
Course is as good as Lancaster with the exception of the greens. Lancaster has better greens but they are all elevated which sets up for high scores if you don’t shoot high and soft landing. The pace of play at Waxahachie is great, 18 holes in 3 hours easily. 75% of greens are good, the other 25% are what I call 2 putt max greens. Golf now has tee times as low as 18.00 for 18 holes. With the limited courses we have in Midlothian and Waxahachie (1), it’s a definite deal. Staff is great, water on the holes, cart girl during the week (Lancaster does not have one during the week). If your a 10 handicap or lower, make the drive to a nicer course, if not, play and enjoy the scenery, pace of play and course layout, for the money, I would play it in a heartbeat!!!
